Homebrew Question Help! RetroNX problem

NOt really a problem but,.... I was playing a rom and saved it in game but it won't show up. Where did I go wrong?

1) saved the game at a normal save point (in game) or saved the state?
2) did you go back into the retro nx menu, then close content, then quit retroNX, or did you quit by using the home button?

I saved at normal saved point and quit

I'm not sure what the answer to my 2nd question was, but you need to close content then quit retroarch for it to be saved. pressing the home button will not write the save data to disk.
