ROM Hack [Help] Pokemon picross save editing

Hi, I wanted to ask if it's possible to hack pokemon picross. I tried to dump my save with svdt several times so I could hex edit it but svdt just froze. Can you please tell me if you succeed in dumping your save and how you've done this? Thanks for helpers

Well, Save Manager also fails to do it (freezes immediately on startup, just after choosing the game). Maybe there is some new encryption on saves?

Maybe... Or maybe it's stored in the extdata and that's why it's crashes.

At least we know it's possible to extract the save file. It's just a matter of time if somebody updates SVDT or Save Manager, or perhaps someone makes a new homebrew app made specifically for the game.

Ok, but the problem is that I can't get a CFW or gateway. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion

There are indeed a couple files in picross's extdata folder (titleID is 17c1 for EUR versions), but extdata_tool doesn't want to extract it for some reason :/

That's very strange... what will happen if someone extracted it with gateway/CFW? Do you think it'll change something? And how do you know it's the game extdata?

Well, I'm not sure of anything but there is a folder named after the game's titleID, can't be a coincidence. I'm not saying the savefile is in there but it is definitely related.

Unfortunately, when I run exdata_dump (compiled it myself from github) it doesn't want to dump it : it's not in the "dumps" folder when I dump all extdata and if I want to dump that specific folder using config.txt file it justs does nothing.

I think Picross is homebrew proof. I tried with my New3Ds and my 2Ds Hans, Braindump and svdt and always black screen

Hum, forget all I said previously : there's no "17c1" folder in extdata, I mistook the one in "titles" for it. That explains why my extdata dumps were empty.

All I have found is "\title\00040000\0017c100\data\00000001.sav", which is basically how every other eshop game works. Too bad.

1. 10.3 is a firmware...
2. What do you mean by "anything that works"...? You can run homebrew and downgrade your system to 9.2.

For the record, this happens for all 9.6+ games. Maybe hax 3.0 will solve this.
