I was using my Wii, when I decided to create a program with CustomizeMii, and, by mistake, I damaged the Nintendo Wii files and now, as soon as I turn on the wii, I get the warnings all, I click the A button, and I only get the wii music for 2 seconds and then a black screen. Yesterday I had the priiloader and the homebrew channel. The next day (today), my pen drive decided to stop working and the Priiloader doesn't work anymore. I tried, as stated in the other message. Help pls, I think there is no more possibility, my Wii is dead.. Tell me, in the meantime I made a backup of the USB a few days ago. Please answer me. Thanks!

You have been told to use ModMii as a basis for (re)installing things.

Blindly installing some version of the System Menu isn't a good idea as it removes Priiloader. The USB drive isn't important for this.

In case of a banner or theme brick you need access to Priiloader or BootMii (in boot2) to repair things.



With a modchip it should be possible to use SaveMii Frii method. Somebody else should be able to provide more details.

You do not need a modchip to recover a bricked Wii in these cases, unless in severe cases when you cannot boot into Priiloader or if it's a Korean console. If you have BootMii or Priiloader installed as boot2, then you can fix things up from there.

Like the other poster mentioned, you'll need ModMii to download the latest System Menu files for your own region. Downgrading the System Menu or installing a System Menu of the wrong region is extremely dangerous and can brick your Wii.

do you rember the systemenu is under 4.3?if this,you can try put a disc (must new one),if your menu is under 4.3,it will ask you to update your menu!my be can fix it!

You might have installed one of those without knowing, it came with HomeBrew Channel

You will might just need to make a folder on your SD-card with an ini in it to acces it (and prefereably a gamecube controller, but not perse needed)

I had downloaded the priiloader, but they told me to download the System Menu for my region. I downloaded it and the Priiloader uninstalled. So now I'm thinking of buying a DVD which I then burn I see with which app and create a bootable disk that opens the homebrew channel.

A consumer DVD writer is unable to produce copies¹ that are accepted and read by a Wii: Different sector encoding, copy protection marks.
Without a modchip (or previous full IOS replacement like DarkCorp/cIOSCorp) the drive will reject anything but genuine Wii/GameCube discs.


Furthermore not all drives can be modchipped or convinced by softmod as the drive (firmware) on newer ones is unable to decode normal DVDs.

I'm not an expert in brick recovery. This is a bit of information on the method with drivechip

Wait a minute… I'm not quite concentrated. Does this mean the "Health & Safety" screen still works? Does it stay on H&S when you do *NOT* press (A)?

Yes, it still works. But another question, do I really need an SD? Or can I use a USB too?
