Hacking help on OTP section 4 plailect

YOU NEED IT!!!
if u have a new 3ds so update beyond 5.1 (i think) WILL BRICK YOU!!!
if u have an old 3ds u can update safely and downgrade to 9.2 again unless u don't have an entry point.
u need to restore your sysnand backup to have your 9.2 again and install a9lh.

thank you and i have the old 3ds! is it normal that i cant access luma3ds/rednand i always get blackscreen. would i be able to access it by continuing to part 5?

wait... are u still on 2.1?
if u do, go to OTPHelper (where u dumped your OTP) and restore your sysnand from your nand.bin via this.

i already finished dumping the OTP. and i have done the section 4 already i can open the sysnand its version was 9.2.0 . should i be able to access the luma3ds through homebrew launcher ?

The guide would say its optional if it was. Follow the guide, do what it says.

(I don't really agree with this. Anyone could stop after setting redNAND without a9lh, or anyone could stop after a9lh without switching to full sysNAND. So there are optional parts. But I agree that trying to detect them without a minimum of background isn't a good idea. Plus, the guide technically goes to the best configuration).

Oh I know some parts are(I skip a bunch when I do it). How do I know what can be skipped? Because I have done it enough times. People who don't know need to follow the guide so they can learn the process.

Iv been following the guide and i got to the downgrading to 2.1 but the guide specifically says if it fails at any part to try again after restoring emunand. The thing is, iv been at it for hours now and it keeps failing at the end with nfirm after about 1.5 hours of retrying i checked setting and it was indeed on 2.1 but i don't want to continue until im certain that is whats supposed to happen. if it makes any difference which i doubt im using reinand n3ds. some help would be appreciated.

Theres a reason the guide uses Luma

It's only partially 2.1, true 2.1 emunand won't boot.

yea, squee666 was nice enough to tell me what i was doing wrong, I had no idea reinand was causing the partial downgrade, thank you though i appreciate it.

yea the updated otp helper does most of the work for you, i kept up with that thread for a while now since i lurk a lot its not often that i actually ask for help. Thank everyone for your replies I have finished everything and now i am just cleaning the sd card + organizing the files on my computer with some notes i left myself just in case i will do it again.
