I have a Wii U on FW 5.3.2 and I'm trying to update it to the latest FW.
But everytime it finished the download and tries to install the FW I get error code 162-0025.
I had modded my vwii before but that was ages ago and I even went into wii U settings and formatted
the whole system but still the same results.
And yes, I have shutdown my ISIC config so it has nothing to do with the fact that it can't connect to the update servers.

I'm thinking it might be because maybe I installed some IOS wrong back when i modded my vwii
but everything was working on the vwii and wii U with loadiine so I'm really confused..

Appreciate the help fellow modders :)

Iv seen a few people fix this by changing their DNS to use Google's public DNS just to install the update & then setting them to TubeHax after the update is successful. Worth a shot.. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Also, Double & tripple check that you have removed whatever you used to block updates previously. If it is down to the IOS's you messed up on vWii.... I believe your SOL.

Go into the homebrew channel on your vwii and run a sys check then post the results here. As long as you can get into the homebrew channel you're NOT SOL.

Did you backup your vwii iOS files when you modded it?

I did back it up but it was all on my previous computer that is broken :P

I'll try the DNS thing and hopefully it will update! (Update: Didn't work! Tried both DNS :/ )

But if I've formatted the wii U shouldn't the vwii be formatted aswell?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Found an old SD card it has some files on it that might help, it was used for my vWii

keys.bin
nand.bin (this one is 500mb file)
nincfg.bin

Then directories named:
apps
source
wad
wiiflow

Can any of these help me reset my vwii / Wii U?

formating does not erase any ios from the console, like people said just get a syscheck then depending on what went wrong there we will see what is needed.

I don't have a homebrew channel anymore and I got super smash but it's for wii U...
So is there anyway to mod the vwii without having one of the required discs?

Well "Lol" I didn't know it was messed up. I thought the update issue had something to do with me blocking dns etc.
Haven't touched my Wii U in a year and a half so excuse me if I forgot I messed around with the Ios on the vwii, I'm sure you've never made a mistake! :)

what i meant is why did you deleted something that didnt bother anything, why delete homebrew channel ever? unless you were planning on selling the console or send it to nintendo to repair, i see no reason why you would ever delete the homebrew channel at all, and no i never made any mistake on hacking vwii becuase i followed a propper vwii guide, you probably followed or downloaded wii ios instead of vwii ones.

You condescending p.o.s...
I followed a proper guide otherwise I wouldn't have had a full nand backup, right? I followed the guides from this forum so please do not speak on matters which you are clueless.
As why I formatted? Because I thought if I formatted my wii U it would force update itself which it did not do. I did not think that the vwii would affect my updates in the way that it did.
But seems simply enough. I'll borrow the wii super smash from a friend install homebrew, restore my original nand backup then update the wii u.

The point is we don't even know yet if the vWii is the problem you need to install the homebrew channel then download then run sys check and post the results here so we can see if that is the problem doing ANYTHING else other than this may lead to even more problems being created.

Out of curiosity I have to ask how could restoring the original nand backup create more problems? Wouldn't it just reset everything in the Ios to the original?

as far as i understand, theres no way to restore a nand on the vwii, sorry im wrong, been out of the scene of the wiiu kinda long time.
Also, hope you backed up your original IOS before patching them, and backup does not have the patch that the software use while backing them up.

Vwii doesnt even have a mios to isntall diosmios you can probably brick the entire thing by doing anything with those dios mios wads, we can tell you followed a propper vwii guide when you have dios mios wads on your sd card that should never ever be installed on vwii since there is no mios to begin with...

Well in my old SD card i found a directory named wad and in that directory there were 2 files:
DIOSMIOS_2.9.wad
DIOSMIOS_2.11.wad

Is that the files you were talking about?

Sadly, no.

As you can see here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-install-cios-on-vwii-backup-nand-and-keys.339890/

You must backup the nand, the keys, and your IOS, and they must NOT BE FakeSigned.

If you don't have CLEAN (non fakesigned) IOS, you won't be able to fix semi-bricked vWii.
You can't create non fakesigned wads from a NAND dump or from using ShowMiiWads. You NEED to use YetAnotherBlueDumpMod.

Also, could you please run a Syscheck on your vwii? and paste the syscheck.log here?

The easiest way for anyone to help you is to show us the results of a syscheck.

1. Reinstall homebrew channel on your vwii using one of the save game exploits and a disc.
2. Download and run wii syscheck from the homebrew channel.
3. Post the results here and we can try to help you.

Well... I've checked all the folders and I can't seem to find any wad files that I might've backed up as I haven't found any YABDM folders..
I guess I'm screwed lmao xD
