So a month ago I could install games without problems but since a few days ago it just doesn't work

More precisely only game above 10 go can't be installed,it shows up an error code : CE 30005-8

Also if I try to copy screenshots on my hard drive it shows error CE 36483-4

I've tried this with different external hd of 1To but I still get the same error :/
And i'm 100 percent sure that the pkg is working

sounds like ps4 hdd came up corrupted somewhere, try uninstall some games first then install new one from ext hdd.

And also remove any other devices plugged in beside the ext hdd. There is small chance the usb port doesnt provide enough power because of other devices plugged in like controller...

Sounds like internal and or external hdd issues.

Try another external hdd, make sure it’s plugged in (pushed in 100%), try reinstall a known working pkg to see if it’s the drive failing.

I tried 3 different external hdd and I still can't install games, the only difference now is that I can install to 16 go large pkg files but above that I get an error. It's impossible that the internal hdd of the ps4 is corrupted since I changed it for a 1to one a week ago

Nothing’s impossible bruh.

Those error codes suggest otherwise.

The fact that <16gb pkgs work also suggests corrupt downloads, but who knows.

Use Lmans pkg viewer to check the integrity.

The pkg are 100 per cent fine,I already checked their integrity with PKGViewer
Seriously I don't know what to do anymore...I rebuilded the database of my ps4 but now all my games are gone :/ it's not a big issue since if I can solve the installation of pkg problem I can reinstall them

Just why am I getting this error? Is there a way to maybe install games from the pc without using a hard drive? maybe using ftp

ok so what do I do? I buy a new hdd? or I should just format my ps4? I don't want to lose all my saves and my trophies

When you try to install pkg from external HDD does it fail to installed with the system leaving you a game with a X over in the icon? Problem might be the enclosure.

But <10gb pkgs work and >10gb pkgs don’t? So external is working to provide for internal, and pkgs are integrity checked.... but then OP said screenshots won’t save without errors... has to be internal issue.

The 10gb thing I don’t get.

Maybe it’s going to sleep! OP Do you have sleep/spin down settings on external?

..still doesn’t explain screenthos errors....

I had similar problem when I first started , problem was the enclosure, apparently my Phat PS4 doesn't like specific enclosure, the problem might be your enclosure @Ishac-sama , I would recommend an USB Type C 3.0 enclosure.

Not 10 go, I could install 3 games of 19go and one of 23
But now I can't even install a 5go game...
I am starting to get the feeling that my 3 external hdd have issues
and what is sleep/spin settings? Sorry if my english is bad I am not a native speaker

And what do you mean by enclosure?

@Ishac-sama enclosure is if you put a normal internal hdd in to a case to make it external rather than buy a sealed external hdd.

Spin down is manufacturers settings for saving disc power.

Find out make and model and google for settings. Some tools can prevent sleep mode and make hdd active permanently: if yours goes to sleep mid copy, it might explain it.

I just checked and changed sleep mode from 20 minutes to 999 min
But it never takes 20 min to install a game

I'm still not sure about what is an "enclosure connector" but if you are talking about the cable linking between the external drive and the ps4 I'd say i'm using the regular one that came with it :/

Okay like this one above is Micro USB 3.0 to USB A enclosure, this one doesnt work well with the PS4.

And this one is USB C 3.0 Enclosure, that what I am been using to install game on my 5.05 PS4, the connector on the enclosure is usb C 3.0
