I think you are right. I noticed the same with her 3ds (Jp as well). Certain titles (especially Nintendo major releases/exclusives) even with the EU or US cias just run in Japanese.. same for the language here on the wii u!

No, I was referring to your other problem with some homebrew apps not loading. I've never tried installing or using out-of-region titles, and I doubt the solution I posted would have any effect on region issues.
