I'll reply, nero264...
I use a Verbatim 320GB external usb powered USB drive, 50 bucks (for the Wii), and a refurbished (returned) 320GB Seagate external usb powered USB drive for my PS3.
Both formatted to FAT32 using FAT32 GUI Formatter, and using Wii Backup Manager for transferring.
My PC is Windows XP SP4.....
And, I always use ModMii for all updating IOS's, cIOS's, usb loader installing, drive formatter, basically EVERYTHING, modmii has, you just run it from your PC, it downloads all necessary files, prints out a guide, very easy to use....

click on my sig to check it out

@brausm08 ok i baught a new external hdd

its called WD My passport Essential SE(750gig)on the list of known working external usb for the wii it doesn't have this one it has my passport SE does that means mine wouldn't work?

EDIT:...dammit ddetkowski...you beat me too...i must've been sitting here mesmerized by that damn delicious avatar of yours again...
