Gaming Help me mod this psp please?

Alrighty, my little brother just bought a psp from his friend and he really wants me to mod it for him for his birthday.
Can you direct me to what I need and a good guide?
The PSP is a phat with system software is 2.82 if that helps

Maybe just because a lot were sold with that firmware installed. I got mine second hand on 5.51. Salax, was yours new or second hand when you got it?

And anyway, having a pandora battery I can easily downgrade to it if I wanted.

It's a PSP Phat. Don't worry, these can never be permanently bricked. I mean, unless you cut up the motherboard or something.

I've answered you in the other thread; plug the PSP in and try to turn it on again.

Did you download the official 5.03 firmware?

Is the light on at all?
Did you make the magic memory stick properly (using the program), and is it in the PSP?

I've used the guide for my slim and it worked fine.

I didn't make a stick because my firmware was 2.82, and also I DLd it from the link in the sticky so I assume it's official.
And yes the green light comes on but the PSP doesn't boot

The sticky says to get the 5.00 firmware, why did you go to 5.03?

If you are on higher firmware then 5.03 then you will need to downgrade using Pandora's battery and MMS (Magic Memory Stick)
Use this guide on how to make both.

Download the 5.03 firmware update here.
Copy the UPDATE folder to ms0:/PSP/GAME/
From your PSP, run the update
Once updated download Chickhen R2

That's what it says, and I was at 2.82

Installing M33

Download Recovery Flasher v1.60
& 5.00 Official Firmware
Copy the RECOVERY folder to ms0:/PSP/GAME/
Re-name the 5.00 Official Firmware to 500.PBP
Copy 500.PBP to ms0:/ (The root of the memory stick)
Run HellCat's Recovery Flasher
Make sure Target FW is 5.00 then go down to INSTALL M33 CFW

When it says to restart your PSP, you now have 5.00 M33 CFW!

Yeah. You were supposed to skip this step. Your on 2.83, which is lower than 5.03. Your PSP is bricked, and you need to buy a Pandora battery.
