I bought a "not charging" switch on eBay. I figured I might be able to fix it. I thought wrong.

I took it apart. I plugged the Nintendo charger in and held the power button for 12 seconds.

I waited about a minute.

The copper heat pipe gets crazy hot. the fan is not turning on. No other signs of life.

Tried installing a known good battery. Same thing. Copper heat pipe gets hot. No fan spin. no other signs of life.

Should I see if Nintendo will take it in and fix it? I don't think I broke any warranty seals?

Thoughts?

Plug in charger check battery terminals with multi meter for a charge ? What is the reading ??
Im not sure if you should do above step seen as your usb c connector has damaged pins
i would def check the usb c connector pins inside for short circuits or bridges, if the usb c port is damaged then maybe it fcked
the m92t36 also
which is a chip for handling charging and power

Also im not sure if your Heat pipe would get hot if it was not taking current correctly,
So current maybe chip fine
so im guessing maybe a short under the Nvidia Tegra X1 processor

did it take water damage is there a little sticker with pink dots inside or a pink sticker

Rule of thumb if it looks fckd then its probably your problem, if you fix whats fckd and its still not working what else did said thing fuck up aswell ?

Trace back from charge port

Replace charge port and the power ic chip,,
