ROM Hack HELP! I can't save in Pokemon Fire Red!

I'm playing it on a supercard lite, but whenever I try to save it gives some error and it doesn't save. Does anyone know how I can fix this? And sorry about using the wrong board, the GBA board is so dead..

uh I got a super light that saves only until you load another game maybe you have the same problem ?

well you can play it all you want, even if you save the game, once you turn the ds off, there is no save game when you load it back up.

I've never used one. Does saving work in other games the same way? If not, maybe you have a bad rom.
