I am with a friend and we are trying to hardmod his new 3ds xl. We are carefully following the guide but we can't find the nand despite looking at many pictures. Maybe we are making a noob mistake but we really need help. There's nothing with Samsung or Toshiba written on it.

Flip the board over. You need to remove the motherboard

Don't pry open those little slave connectors, or you'll be screwed over, getting hard time to restore them! There's only two of them, that should be opened - upper one for touch screen control and the one connecting c-stick.

You're very brave to crack open the 3DS shell. Good luck. I'll never have the guts to do this.

If you cant figure this part out you have no business soldering.

I wasn't soldering my friend was. I know I have no business doing it and would never risk that on my system. I had someone else do it for me

Sounds like your friend has zero soldering experience as well. Otherwise, he would have thought about flipping the board over . Good luck.
