Hi, everyone. I'm having some issues trying out methods to block updates, so I won't be screwed in the future.

I've tried to use Tubehax DNS, but I can still go to Eshop and Youtube with Tubehax DNS. Great. I've also tried OpenDNS, but it also didn't work for me, so OpenDNS is not a option. Deleting Internet setting is out of the question because I really need Smash online.

Is there any other option I could use to block updates?

If you're able to play smash online then you have already updated to the latest. Unless you are spoofed. Can you clarify?

Did you set both Primary DNS and Secondary DNS to Tubehax?

Yes. I tried setting both Primary and Secondary DNS to Tubehax and still no luck.

It could be your ISP, some of them don't actually let you change and use your own DNS, although you said you blocked them directly in the router, which makes no sense that it doesn't work for you, unless you didn't do that correctly.

So to be clear, you are playing SSBB disc version and your just worried about a future update? Because right now there is nothing higher than 5.5.1.

Have you tried following the tubehax section in the definitive guide in the sticky threads?

I have all 18 of these blocked in router for my Wii-U's MAC address. I've never had an update, even without TubeHax DNS, but i use them both in conjunction now as a precaution.
