Now I know this is probably a completely pointless question! But my son (he's only 3!!) stood on my DS and completely smashed the top screen (luckily notthe touch screen or i think i'd have been suicidal! ;-) ) Now unfortunately it's gonna be 4 days before I can afford to replace it so in the meantime, i just wondered if anyone had done this b4 and/or if anyone knows what games i can play that aren't absolutely imperative that i use the top screen! (Yes I am sad, and can't go 4 days without gettin my daily fix of DS ;-) ) I have managed to play Drawn to Life which has just come out and some others like Scrabble aren't too bad. Any suggestions? (Apart from buy a new one)
Cheers guys,
Leah!
PS: Any donations of DS's are welcome ;-D
Just kidding lol

It will be easy to fix if you don't have to thread the cable through the hinge. I would reccomend finding the nearest Nintendo repair shop and flirting with the guy who works there (since you're hot) and getting a good deal on a repair. I have a friend here in California who hooks me up all the time with repairs on Nintendo stuff.

Thanks so much for your help. I will give this a go. My screen is crackd just like the one in the pic on the link, the light still works but the picture keeps flashing on and off, this is because (I think) one if the hinges has come off, and I think a connector may have come loose. I will try :-)

Also, dealextreme.com sells the bottom screen for a reasonable price.

Lemme find the link for you.

Here we are. $15 USD. Free shipping I do believe.

Top Screen

But dealextreme is in Japan, I do believe. So it's gonna take two weeks before it arrives.

It says "Professional installation required" though.
But I'm sure the dissasembly guides here can give you a good run-down.

Or I could be ingorant, not having broken a part of my DS yet..
But I'd give it a look if I had a broken DS.

They sell virtually every part of the DS at that place.
I just wish I could put my Lite innards inside a phat case.

I scared I'ma break it if I ever drop it.

Thanks for all the help everyone! Just got a new pink DS Lite though! So all my troubles are over! I also fully destroyed it when trying to fix it - well convert it to a OS (One screen)

) by removing the top part, but then it refused to turn on at all!

third one????
I must be super careful or something, so afraid of mine breaking. I did pick up an extended warranty though, so if anything besides the obvious goes wrong in two years, I'm covered...

My launch DS still works. The top screen is becoming loose from the rest of the DS though... I can slide it a bit.

I hope it won't break... But I'm probably buying a DS Lite anyway.
