Hacking HELP!!! Bricked wii

Ok so my wii was running great with firmware 4.2U and i had USB Loader GX on there and the homebrew channel i have been wanting wii sports resort fore awhile so i borrowed my friends game and when i put it in the disc channel read it and i saw the update thing so like an idiot i clicked the update button and it updatied my wii and then i tried to restart it and it wont load the sys menu its says the system files are corrupt or something i triend to use preloader to load the homebrew channel but when i updated it uninstalled the homebrew channel WHAT DO I DO is there any way i can fix my wii???

does it still boot to the heath warning screen? if it does you could try booting the wii into maintenance mode by holding - and + then press A, it more than likely wont help but its worth a try i guess, your wii shouldn't have bricked in the first place from what you said in your post

if u still have priiloader, u can install and/or launch the hackmii installer boot.elf and reinstall the homebrew channel

u can use the same method to launch wad manager or dop-ios mod and fix ur system files are corrupted message by reinstalling a patched version of your system menu ios (be careful not to install a new system menu, as this will uninstall priiloader and then u will be bricked for sure, unless u have bootmii as boot2, and if u do, just do a nand restore)

doesn't wsr come with 4.0 firmware? was it a backup? if so it was prob a out of region one..

If he is on 4.2 then how could it update to 4.0? His update to 4.2 will have stubbed IOS60 and therefore system menu would not run at all?

IDK i think it is using ios 249 im not sure ill check and are you sure i can run the hackmii installer to install the homebrew channel cause this happened to me once before and i used preloader to run ios downgrader and it fixed it so im wondering if i could reinstall the homebrew channel could i use ios downgrader too fix it or is the only option to install a new patched system menu

Try to reinstall the HBC. And don't use IOS downgrader, I think it's outdated.

was the wsr a backup or a original? if you were on 4.2 then u have a newer system menu then what wsr has on the disk. you more then likely updated to a diffrent region hence the problem..

No i had 4.2 and all the disc updates do is update certain ios's on your wii that will allow you to play the game and its wierd i run the hackmii installler and it says it cant continue cause theres no vulnerable ios for it to use so i click exit then my homebrew channel loads but i cant connect to friends internet which i need to do to fix it because i wasnt connected to it in the first place and i need to do that through the system menu

And if you want to play an original copy of Wii sports resort you better update your IOS 53 to the latest release.

so reading through this post, it seems that your HBC is still working. you could just use cioscorp uninstaller by da_letter_a then. you could obtain it by mailing [email protected] ...use it for you to remove cioscorp.

Ok, So what is the current condition of the wii. Are you still able to get into preloader?
Are you able to get to the rescue menu?

If you can get into the rescue menu what firmware version does it say?

You did not ever mention if you have bootmii installed to boot2 or not, but I would assume you dont.

Yes i can get into preloader, you will have to explain what the rescue menu is and if im correct it says version 4.0U but i know my wii is 4.2U
