My friend's New3DS XL running LumaCFW has been having some issues. It, even before installing CFW, has been freezing a lot due to a loose battery pack. After CFW, the 3DS will often freeze, crash, or simply turn off. It will display a Luma Crash Dump when crashing and sometimes, the blue light will turn on for half a second and then turn back on again when my friend boots it. I can provide mare specifics if necessary. I've tried running the cleanup sd card script on GodMode9, but that has not fixed it. Please help!

You could try a CTR transfer but I think it is probably a hardware problem. Now when it freezes Luma captures the error and displays it to you, whereas before it was just freezing or exiting the app it was in. He should probably think about getting another console and/or sending it to Nintendo for repairs.

mmm. Thanks for the help. He'll be crushed when he hears that, but I guess I'll have to tell him.

...How can I send a console in to Nintendo if the warranty is voided??

Why is the warranty void? Did you open the console up and play with the hardware? If you're worried about it having CFW you can uninstall it https://3ds.guide/uninstall-cfw

But before you do anything drastic, try a brand new SD card from a brick and mortar store, that's been formatted first, and just put on boot.firm from Luma 9.0 and see if that fixes the problem - maybe it could just be corrupted SD card contents? And try the CTR transfer in case it's a messed up system title.

Okay. I'll try that.
