Name I'll go by on here is CJB100. I was a previous moderator at the Guitar Zero forums, and contributed a lot to the Guitar Zero, Frontman, and FoFix scene back in the heyday of Rhythm Games. I've also always been interested in hacking video game systems, and had my Wii fully decked out back when I owned one. Now I have a Wii U and have the vWii completely decked out.

Just wanted to give a small introduction. When I was researching how to hack the vWii, I had to really jump around and find the best way to get things done. So first thing I wanted to do after writing an intro post, was write a complete guide to vWii hacking, in celebration of the recent kernel exploit for Wii U and hopefully, the soon to follow IOSU exploits. I do intend to make videos for the guide, and before I get too much further, I do understand that there are already guides for this, and they are good. But it was my experience that no one guide stood out as being particularly well organized for a beginner in the scene, and none had everything in a one-stop-shop post format. So that is my goal. A one-stop shop tutorial post for everything vWii for total newbies.

I would also like to state that I do program, and although I never programmed for the original Wii, I would like to be involved in the Wii U hacking scene when it finally explodes, as I believe will happen. Whether this is the maintenance of the Wiki WiiUBrew, creation of graphics for programs or front-ends, programming once an SDK is developed, whatever is needed.

Let me know what I can do to be of use to the community:

  • I can provide, write, mix or master audio and have 5+ years experience doing so
  • I can create simple graphics for appealing program menus or front-ends
  • I can program and would be able to program for the Wii U once an SDK can be established [I'm not currently extremely experienced, so an SDK or engine would probably be necessary for me]
  • I have experience in maintaining, writing, and organizing forums, wikis and other sources of information specifically to appeal to non-members or non-technical users

Will do. Just didn't know if there was anything in particular that I could get started on pretty directly other than this guide I'll be writing / filming.
