HEY TEMPERS!!
I've been invited to register here by the user “Ace Faith”, so that I could get started with programing (currently C / C++ and HTML are what I am seeking to learn), and because I hear this is a fun forum to join.
I'm hoping to receive feedback, and maybe help, especially from those of you who have studied/are studying: Computer Science and/or Programming. It is my ambition to learn as much as possible in 1-2 years.
I come from a Wc3 background in mapping, programming in a interface-based GUI and some custom scripting and now I am currently mapping in Sc2. Sc2 is based on C++ so I bump into that alot when I get erros, lol.
I currently have an old book (from the 70’s, lol) in the C language, a few guides on the Internet (including one from www.cplusplus.com) and use the following programs to write: notepad ++ and Code::Blocks 10.05 . I hope I can find more guiding books in a library soon.
I should say that I understand how programming is, and I’m not as dumb as not being able to understand a Hello World program.
Ace Faith has told me there are often kiddies/teens “programming for the DS” here, who can’t format what they make. I find it funny he says that; they’ll probably do well, sometime, in-between the vaporware. I’ve seen some of this through lurking as well. I find it funny, but I won’t say any names...
I should say I understand the structure of programming but I lack the vocabulary for writing freely. I’d generally say I have somewhat more knowledge than a complete beginner.
Other than that, I’m a drummer
