Alrighty.. So I've been in the blue about the PSP, but I've heard a lot of good things. If someone could help me out, it would be much appreciated.

1) I heard the PSP can emulate up to the N64 and PS1. I heard that the N64 does not emulate perfectly, but how about the PS1? Also, does the SNES/GBA emulate perfectly?
2) I was told that once you modded a PSP, you could download ISOs of PSP games and be able to play them on your PSP, with all online capabilities and everything working perfectly fine. Is this true?

Now, onto some other questions about the modding part itself..

3) I can only find PSP 3000s in store... Are those moddable?
4) Is there a place I can buy a modded PSP, or older version of PSP like PSP 2000?

1. PS1 is pretty much perfect for 95% of games.
2. Yep.
3. idk
4. Yeah but they probably sell it for a LOT more than it would take for you do to it yourself.

to date all psp 3000s are hackable IF!
firmware is 5.03 or under
but the new releases will probably come with 5.50

There is no way to downgrade from 5.50 to 5.03?

Also, is there a way I can tell what PSP firmware version it is by looking on the box?

And, what do I need to hack a PSP 3000 assuming I got one at 5.03 firmware?

SP Custom Firmware 5.03
ChickHEN R2
And a memory stick? What kind of memory stick? (I haven't even touched a PSP in person.. I'm only really interested in flashing things like megaman x on my PSP

Also, for the SNES and GBA emulators.. Do they work perfectly? No slowdown or anything?

I also wonder about how to know the firmware by the box number. I know there were list for such things before but I haven't found any recent ones.
