I just installed Homebrew via haxchi (2.5u2) and it woks well, but I cannot install certain games with wupinstaller because they require a CFW. I don´t really see a need for myself to coldboot into a firmware for now, as this seems to only spare me a few clicks I have no problems with and carries a certain risk of bricking.
However, when I startup Haxchi holdng the A key, my WiiU hangs. I suppose this has to do with this line in config.txt:
a=fw.img
I have no fw.img anywhere that I know of, so this behavior makes some sense. How should I tackle this? Which fw.img should I use and where do I get it? Or am I getting this all wrong?

Thanks, guys!

Code:
a=fw.img^
b=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf^^
default=sysmenu*

^ If fw.img is found then it launches it. Used by outdated iosuhax method
^^ On button hold, it will redirect to any homebrew . wiiu/apps/foldername/homebrew.elf_file
* If default is set to sysmenu, it will boot into it's own CFW known as Haxchi CFW

I have this so holding + and clicking on HBL loads haxchifw

I assume you mean Clicking on HaxChi, right? At least in my current setup, I have not yet setup the HBL Channel and HaxChi is my only option...

And, whatever I have in my config.txt, it always brings me to HBL. When I return from it my System identifies as 5.5.1.

Either hold b when booting HaxChi or change the default line in the config file to say default=sysmenu

Then reinstall HaxChi

Now when you tap HaxChi you'll be in CFW. If you want to have a HBL channel then install it with WUP Installer after tapping HaxChi.
