This is all I've got so far but when I try to go to system menu I just get a black screen.

So I'm guessing your issue is a banner brick? Since your system menu isn't loading?

If so, just boot homebrew channel, and delete the .wad you installed.

If its not your issue, give some detail so we can help you fully
