Gaming harvest moon minning problem

A new area should be unlocked every first of the new season but for some reason i can't get further than the first layer. am i doing something wrong or is this an antipiracy protection. except for this the game works fine on gen-d3

Are you using the version that's the Japanese iso with the English files inserted? That's a common issue. You have to use the original US or Japanese iso to mine or train your horse and then switch back when you're done.
