Gaming Harvest Moon DS Save glitches?

Hello! I just decided to start a game of Harvest Moon DS, and I have read many people lost saves, or their saves became corrupted. I don't want this to happen to me. I'm playing HMDS from my R4DS card, will the save glitches occur on the rom, or was it a problem with the carts Natsume used? Also, if it was a problem with the rom, is there a patch available? Just wanted to ask before I pour a ton of hours into the game, and possibly loose my progress.

just backup your save every time you connect to your pc ok cuz i play this game and is what i do

Try playing the 1.1 version. It's game number I think is 1395 if not mistaken. I heard it has less game crashes. It's not about the cart that Natsume used, as this happened to me using my flashcard. It's the game itself. If you want less glitches, try playing more recent Harvest Moon games.
