Recently I've been trying to cut open my psp slim battery for hardmodding but it looks fairly dodgy. I started off fairly well but whenever I get to the inside with my knife sparks/smoke comes out. Is this normal? Should I carry on?

Doesn't matter anymore - I've burned it (completely) so I'm getting a hybrid battery from dealextreme.
