I recently bought a Nintendo DS Lite, and I am looking for a decent working Flashcart.

There's a store in my neighborhood, which sells a few carts:

- R4DS
- R4DS SDHC
- Acekard 2
- EDGE
- M3DS Real

The only thing I want to do with it is mainly play games, and a few homebrew apps.
What is the best Flashcart I can get for what I want to do with it? SDHC is not really required, but it's a nice extra if it's there.

I hope someone can help me make a decision, because I have been looking around for 2 days now.

Thanks!

well i own an r4 acekard 2 n dstt well the r4 is dead but has good compatibility where as akaio in acekard is updated almost every week and the dsst get it if you want a card for a good price with good features

id say
get an acekard 2 or m3ds real
dont get r4 sdhc as its a clone and can damage ur ds

Stay away from the R4 for starters. Do you need real time saving? If yes go for the M3. If not go for the acekard or EDGE. IMO go for the acekard.

Anything with the R4 name should be avoided like the plague. I am not kidding. Stay far away from ANYTHING R4.

Personally, I'd suggest the CycloDS, but you didn't list that one, so if you're only able to choose between the carts you listed....then I'd say the AceKard or M3DS Real. The Edge is just a budget version of the CycloDS and has less features. Any of the recommended carts will support SDHC.

I think I will go for the Acekard 2.

They also have the Acekard 2i for a few more bucks, is it worth buying it for the Nintendo DS Lite?

I can vouch for the M3DS Real. Combine it with M3 Sakura, and you have the sexiest firmware out there. It's got its flaws, such as mediocre homebrew compatibility, but it's definitely worth it.

Thanks for all your replies!

I am going for the Acekard 2, mainly because of the frequently updated firmware it has to offer. I'm about to leave the house to pick it up.

I just got my Acekard 2i. I wanted to get an Acekard 2 instead, but it was no longer on stock.
The Acekard 2i was as cheap as the Acekard 2, so there was no reason to wait until the Acekard 2 was on stock again.

Just installed AKAIO, and I'm amazed by how easy it works.

Thanks for all your suggestions. This forum made my life a lot easier!
