I actually had to check my User Profile cause I could not remember when I joined.... apparently '06. I just remember doing research about flashcards at the time for the DS. Still have (and still use) my R4, still not on the Wood firmware either.... though it is mostly my sister on my DS now that I have my 3DS.

Good on GBATemp.... here is to several more good years!

I have only been here since New Years of '10, but this place his changed a lot since then.

I should have signed up the day before to be able to say that I've been here since '09.

I was there !

I was even there before gbatemp existed!
I've met KiVan on a GBA rom website, he was just a user like us, but decided to help and create a place where he always stored all ten last releases, and as the website were closed frequently decided to create a temporary DNS name to always redirect to website he prepared to host these illegal Rom files. So the URL was always the same, but never the same server, always a temporary one.
It was like GBAtemp.2ya.com (which still redirect to gbatemp.net !!!).
There was another one I forgot too, before becoming a .net

It wasn't a forum at the beginning, just a website listing latest releases.
When he implemented the forum, I was a little late to register and did it only on 27th of October and ended member n° 746.

The first two years I never posted, I was really shy (and still am) and didn't have a lot of thing to contribute to the forum which would help the users.
I didn't even add an avatar in the first few years. I was more like an incognito user :P
I started posting with the Nintendo DS launch, always helping the users when I could.

Then little by little I helped in more sections, after the DS came the Wii, and continues to help users, even help the developers when I could.
Tried coding myself on DS and Wii, but never made anything great.
I made my place on GBAtemp little by little by always trying to help everyone. (Isn't it what Cyan did in FF? always helping in the shadow)

Though, maybe a lot of you still don't know me, I don't interact a lot with members, I don't know a lot of members personally (I talked only to 4 or 5 users in 9 years).
I'm still shy and don't feel at ease when posting in threads like eof, or blogs, so I know almost only hackers and developers
But feel free to come and talk to me anytime.

A lot of people came and left, some are still coming but not posting anymore, but I'm happy to see their names in the online user's list.

I would like to thanks all the staff and the members for keeping this community alive.
Special thanks to Costello, we wouldn't be there without you!

Anyone got a lower member number than me?
Oh, you have a really lower member ID, I'm only 746
Costy is 255

Ahem..a song for you GBATemp, in lieu of your 9th Birthday

Now, I have only been around for a few years, and yet for some reason I feel like I've been here since the very start. Funny how a forum grows on you that way...I like it, it's become like a second home on the Internet for me.

May the years bring GBATemp glorious bounty and prosperity.

Thank you everyone who founded this wonderful forum, and those whom take the role of up-keeping it, and it's users...I love you guys! *Sniff*

Happy birthday GBATemp (yeah you heard it before I know)

I've only been around for just over 1/2 that time (joined 23 Sep 2006), & only because I stumbled across it when searching for a solution to carry more games on a single card (I saw a LOT of Gameboys cards on holiday of '32-in-1' etc, & wondered how they did it)

Seen a lot of changes to the site, some good & some bad - but still I keep coming back for more....
.... you just can't keep a good site down

Congrates to all the past & present team members in keeping this as good as it was all those years ago - yet keeping it fresh & up-to-date

Happy birthday oh you glorious GBAtemp!!

(btw.: did anybody of you visit Rockstar Games today? B-) )

Happy hrthday GBAtemp, my favourite site on the interweb

Been a lurker since 05/06. Had another account around '06 (which I used to lurk), then switched over to this one in '07.

I miss the GBA times (which I sadly spent somewhere else), and those were made truly epic by the work of KiVan, Costello, shaun, thug and all the others.

Thanks again guys!

GBAtemp has come a long way..

Anyways, what really happened to KiVan? I read the history wiki page, but there's not much mention of what happened.
