Has anyone experimented with Hans? I don't really understand what it is capable of and wondered if anyone else could explain it.

The main thing it can do is it can run external RomFS (game data, basically) as if it were part of the game.
It can also spoof region/language instead of using your system's region/language, which is necessary for some games to work.

I don't know for sure, you'll have to experiment with games and see.
You can't do this with DS games since we can't switch into DS mode or access DS games through homebrew. You can just apply a patch to a DS ROM and run it using a DS flashcart.
EDIT: But if you meant 3DS games, you can use braindump to dump RomFS.

I think it has to be in a folder named 'hans' on the root of your SD card, and the RomFS need to be named <titleid>.romfs.
So if you wanted to run RomFS for AC:NL USA off of your SD card, the file would need to be named 0004000000086300.romfs.

Thank you! I also found this guide. Do you know if there are any tutorials for rom hacking at the current time? I'd like to impress some of my friends with a "Roomsaver edition" ORAS like Smea showed in his *hax 2.5 video.
