I need to play/boot games from usb and play burnt games and also I would like to try to figure out how to install old games to channels.

IOS58, I have tried to delete it then get a new v5918 from nintendo servers it keeps saying error getting IOS (-1)

I can get the newer version v6176 but not the older one v5918, as it sits now i have v6176 and from the main MMM screen it says " Load another IOS (current:IOS58 v6176)

When you try to load another IOS, does it now let you load one that isn't IOS 58?

Yes, it does

But right now I am reading, installing, adjusting this modmii thing, I wish I hadent wasted the last 3 days of my life reading threads and watching youtube videos on this topic and had been focused on this modmii program, ITS GREAT!! its a bit intimidating because its another learning curve I have ahead of me (any advice to speed through this process is appreciated) but I will get reading and working on this and report back. The problem I am finding is that most tutorials like this one are written from the standpoint of doing a fresh install, not from the viewpoint of my situation where some bone head (me) has got in there and half locked everything up. I will do my best to apply as much common sense as i have left and ill try to start from the begining and read to the bottom and try as tho its a fresh install/hack.

off topic,

Is there a way to get email notification when there is a new post on this thread?

If you can load an IOS other than 58 in MMM, then I think you should be able to install anything from modmii that you need to. :)

If I am suppose to change something what should I be looking to change? PLEASE dont say "follow the tutorial" do i need more or less IOSs I cannot load an older version of IOS58 its not possible, i can load the newer version but not the older one. I seem to have the capability of uninstallling and reinstalling most IOSs I just dont know which one i should be looking at, Also, I keep seeing something to the effect of "running off of IOS 58" << I can change this to whatever i want, I just dont know which one I should change it too.

I'm really frustrated guys.

If you used modmii, the correct way, and followed its steps, which it gives you, you'd have not a single problem.
Stop fu**ing around with uninstalling this, installing that, you'll only make it worse, and have a full brick. Use modmii, wizard option, its a virgin wii.

How is this looking now? I apologize i did not understand that modmii was a generating a custom designed page for me to follow (what a good idea). I followed it from

"3.) Install a patched IOS236"

up untill

"7.) Install Custom Wii Menu........"

I have changed the HBC IOS to 58 instead of 61 and i have even updated HBC to the correct version. I still cannot load backed up disc games, automatically or from neogamma. I just get an error and the wii locks up forcing a hard restart, it says the game cannot be read. these games are working in my other wii console of the same date code, so I am sure its not the disc.

I am hoping i just need to add an additional channel or something.

Thank you to everyone who is helping me.

when i installed the modmii i got 2 desktop icons, wii backup and the fat32 formatter. i followed the prompts and for the first time ever i have loaded a game from a usb thumb drive. so this seems to be working, the usb loader GX does not seem to work and the wiiflow starlight just says "WBFS_open failed" but the configurable usb loader seems to work. I havent tried a usb hard drive yet.

If this is all i can get i consider it a win.
