Good because that would be the only way I'd be willing to risk this because if it did void the warranty even after restoring everything to default that would not be good obviously. Never know if something out of the blue happens know what I mean? Thank you The_Randomizer and Cluster for the answer I'm looking forward to adding some of the titles that should have been!
A forensic style examination would reveal what was previously installed on your system, unless the data has been over written rather than just deleted. Even if over written in some circumstances it can still be restored.

But relax....you live longer

Does anyone know the exact resolution of game art that is on the SNESC? Assuming the same maximum dimensions as NESC (only turned 90 degrees), it should be 204 pixels by xxx pixels.

Hackchi can actually upload or find the images on Google and automatically resize and convert them to the right format and resolution

I'm DYING to get started, help a new user out?
If you are using the 2.20 final release of Hakchi2, then yes, you need to select original games to have the default 21 games on your list.
When you first start Hakchi2 it will ask you what kind of system you will be using. If you have a Super Nintendo Classic Edition, for example, then you would choose "SNES Classic Mini" from the list.
Make sure to click the "Kernel" menu and choose "Dump Kernel". Just follow the instructions that pop up. When that is done, make a backup copy of the file you just dumped, and keep it somewhere safe. Next click on the "Kernel" menu again and choose "Flash Custom Kernel". When that is done, you will be ready to add games.

Click the "Add More Games" button, go to where you put your roms (they must be .sfc or .smc format to work) and start adding them, one by one.

Most games you add will auto fill in all of the game info for you, including if it's 1 or 2 players. It won't give you the box art by itself, but you can add that very easily. Just select the game and the click the Google button. When you see a picture you like, just double click it to set it as the box art for the game.

Just choose "Synchronize Selected Games With NES/SNES Mini" when your done adding games to the list, and Hakchi2 will tell you what to do to flash the games to your SNES Classic.

That's the best I can do for you. That's all I currently know.
Good luck!

Installed RetroArch, but every time I load up Super Street Fighter II, it still gives me the C7 error. I have installed it properly and it updated the kernel on the SNES, and then I added --retroarch to the command line of the game.

Are you sure ?

When testing the RC2,3,4,5 build, I was restoring the stock kernel, and then dumping and uploading the custom kernel with each new update.

What I noticed, was that the games were still on the system, once the custom kernel was installed.

So if it seems if you really want to return it to like stock, you first need to remove all the games you added, then flash the stock kernel back.
Uninstall != Original kernel flash

Thanks for the new release Cluster.

Anyone know if there is a compatiblity list for snes games witht the default emulator?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...vh8t2aV5cVswYlnsdKxn9xoIW2Y/htmlview?sle=true

Quick little Q: where can you find the /dump directory with the non-portable version? Need to move my original kernel over which can't be found online.
Check "My documents" folder, it should be there.

Uninstall also removes HMOD modules without well... uninstalling them first?
Uninstall removes the whole hakchi folder.

Awesome work Cluster! Donation coming. Appreciate everything you do.
Thank you!

Original 21 ROMs that include battery saves include an icon on the main menu of a cartridge with pencil. Can there be a setting in the future to add that to added games that have battery saves?

Edit: It looks like from some videos, the icon appears sometimes.
It should be detected automatically based on ROM header. Maybe I'll add setting too. But I don't want to enlarge main window.

You do realize your questioning the person who made hakchi program right?

Hakchi is very simple. It is already “idiot proof”

I guess you are talking about two different aspects of the question. As far as I understand from the technical implementation:
Cluster is right: When you return to the original kernel, the System will behave exactly as before since no hakchi related code is neiter active nor present any more. So by using the System there's no way to tell if it was modified.
cokeaddict is right: There might still be files (games etc.) in a special folder in NAND Memory. That's the reason they survive a kernel restore and re-patch. Even if you removed them before restoring, there might still be these (empty) folders. Since they are not used by the original kernel it does not affect the functionality of the restored device.

As far as I understand, in case of a return Nintendo might be able to detect a modified and restored console if they evaluate the full NAND Memory / file system. Even if the kernel is original again it can be expected fo find traces of the added games etc. Even if you deleted the games, there will be traces of their raw data in the (now unused) NAND memory. The only way around this would be to not only restore the kernel but also a full NAND backup. A NAND backup was not possible to create in the RCs, I could not test the final version yet. But if you already modified your SNES mini it's too late to create the NAND backup, anyways...

But I seriously doubt they are going to do a forensic analysis on a device that's sent in for repair. If at all, they are going to look on a filesystem level.

can someone provide me the original kernel please? i somehow messed it up and always when i backup the original kernel now it tells me that md5 checksum is wrong.... lol

Once I've installed the hmod What do I need to change the command line to if I want a game to run via retroarch instead of canoe (a PAL game)?.

Edit: I've got the games running via retroarch from following kdfmanics post... But get c8 errors when existing those particular games? Any idea how to fix this?

The original kernel is copyrighted material and it's against GBAtemp's rules to request copyrighted material or links to copyrighted material.

Does anyone know how filters are put through retroarch with snes9x? I've been looking into setup, video options, on all sites and found nothing filters.
