Not so much new features but many bug-fixes and improvements:

  • FTP server is much more compatible and stable now (chown, MLSD, MLST, MFMT commands)
  • Sorting feature for Save Manager
  • Support for ultra shitty cheap Classic Controller clones (custom kernel re-installation required), but hardware modification is required (pull-up resistors)
  • New mods included as examples for modders (checkout my mods guide: https://github.com/ClusterM/hakchi2/wiki/Modifications-and-modules-guide)
  • Finally installer and auto update, lol
  • Screenshot tool
  • More translations to different languages
  • Other fixes
Yes, you can use web installer now: http://clusterrr.com/soft/hakchi2/setup.exe

This is static link, it always points to installer of latest version. Also it will install all required components if they are not installed. This version supports automatic update just in one click. So it's very recommended to use installer instead of classic portable version. Please note that all user files (kernel, config, games, etc.) will be stored in "My documents\hakchi2" folder by this version. So just copy your files there if you want to migrate to non-portable version.

Hopefully this also includes extension cables, I bought a few that work fine with my Wii but refuse to work with my Mini. I am not going to do any hardware mod though better to buy new cables from a different brand that do work.

I haven't been on this forum in a while, nor have I modded my mini in a while, so I have a question.
Since the mini is discontinued I want to revert it back to its old self (minus having all the Mega Man games still on it). If I flash the original kernel back, will it uninstall all mods, delete all added games, and just pretty much factory reset the whole thing? I want to have the mini be NES exclusive since I now have Retroarch on my PC.

No you have to uninstall the modules manually in Hakchi first after that you can remove all traces from your Mini and flash your original kernel. When the original kernel is uploaded to your Mini you can restore to factory settings on the Mini itself.

You need to solder two pull-up resistors inside controller: to SDA and to SCL lines.

Hopefully this also includes extension cables, I bought a few that work fine with my Wii but refuse to work with my Mini. I am not going to do any hardware mod though better to buy new cables from a different brand that do work.
Maybe it will help too. Seems like your cable has too big (large, much..? er...) resistance.

I think it was my controller, I picked an original Wii classic controller this afternoon and it works fine with the extension cables. I am a bit stupid because I never bothered to check it with the standard controller that came with the NES, that also work fine.

hey guys i updated to the new hakchi software and i can not upload 700 NES GAMES ANYMORE. Even with 600 it keeps giving me a error storage full i have reverted back to original kernal and flashed to custom again and can only do about 250 games and thats it. This is on 2.16c and 2.17. Anyone else having the same issues?

Does anyone know if it is true that if you uncheck 'compress non nes games' (2.15) that would enable battery saves on N64 games?
If so, would it be an idea to leave it checked when adding SNES games (for example) then uncheck it when adding N64 games?

Does flashing the original kernel get rid of any save states from other games that might be hidden in the mini or does the factory reset do that?
