there should be a message at least ttat tells you... maybe in beta 3 XD

also, kedest, whats boot delay do?

You can set bootmii to autoboot to hbc or wii menu. In the first release, it waited 5 seconds before doing that (so can you use the bootmii menu itself)
Now you can change it to a specified number of seconds

I installed BootMii 0.2 and the New HomeBrew Channel over the old ones WITH NO PROBLEMS!!!:)
I just wanted to know how to set the autoboot..?

This is my boot me config file..

# BootMii config file

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=NTSC

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
#AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

Do I change something in there?

THANKS, WiiMan123
BootMii 0.2 seems farter..

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=PROGRESSIVE

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
#AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

# Autoboot delay, in seconds:
# Default is 5
#BOOTDELAY=5

Quick question on the new autoboot delay feature, if you set it to 0 so it loads instantly into system menu, is the only way to get back into bootmii to change the delay on the sd card again or can you do somthing like preloader did and hold reset for it to pop up?

Also, i havnt installed bootmii yet but is it worth installing as both boot2 and as an ios? is there any real benefits to this as my wii can install as boot2 w/o probs

if possible, as boot2 is better, it allows for you to recover from bricks. you can install both, but there is no need for as ios if you have it as boot2

hey guys , i installed hbc 1.0.3 using hackmii installer 0.2 so that i could use my 8gb SDHC card in wad manager 1.3 .

hbc 1.0.3 was installed successfully , but i still get error code (ret -1) when trying to retrive the device contents from wad manager . has anyone else had trouble loading wads from sdhc AFTER updating their hbc to 1.0.3 ?

several apps such as nes and snes emulators work fine and their forwarders work . mplayer_ce 0.5 works , but the forwarder stop working on sdhc cards , so sdhc is not totally broken . mostly just the wad loader .

system specs :
system menu 4.0
cios10
downgraded ios 12
cioscorp
preloader

i forget what other details might be relevant

any help is very much appreciated , though i suppose that goes without saying

Without knowing anything about bootmii iwould say you have to remove the "#" in the line "#AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU".

CODE# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

Normaly the # character comments out the following line...

if your sd card is an 8GB kingston class 4 your not going to be able to use it on anything but HBC for now inever was able to use mine till HBC 1.0.3 came out.other apps didn't work with it i think that is why hackmii.com has an twilight hack source code right now so coders could use it so the sd cards that work on HBC will work on their apps such as mplayer ce and emulators.well these are apps that don't work for me.and i haven't used a forwarder yet.i usually use hbc for apps.

hmmz, as i said before looks like the new dvdx combined with ftpii permits to grab the nand file from ftp

the thing is, since it's .img would it be possible to change to .bin and make it working

thanks for the response .

its not kingston . it's sandisk , and it's working for everything except wadmanager now . all my forwarders are good , just had to find new ones compiled with proper sdhc support libs .

can anyone else shed some light on this problem ?

It won't work like that.

Oh, and the reason why it wants to open the files with different things is because to my knowledge, Linux opens things based on their contents and Windows opens things based on their file extension.

I fixed my problem, it was some random IOS corruption due to other patch from non-verified sources that I tried. I can say that it works succesfully on LU64 console running menu system 4.0.

Thanks guys for the tips. I was able to install bootmii in boot2 sector and works great. I found out the to back up the nand you need a secound sd card.

When bootmi backup the nand it show a bad black it said factory bad block marker at block 2025.

What does it mean?

You can use the same one. If you're using BootMii v0.2, just make sure you have over 528MB free. If you're using BootMii v0.1, you'll have to temporarily move the contents of your SD to your computer, then let it backup your NAND, because v0.1 requires that you format. After either case, just copy the nand.bin to your computer for safe keeping.

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    but that's a long shot
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

    if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
    still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
    It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
