I am having a problem with the new HackMii installer: it always says that there is no usable or vulnerable IOS installed.
I am on System Menu 4.2U and have tried installing with the "standalone" installer and through the auto-update in the Homebrew Channel.

I have BootMii installed as an IOS, and HBC is already installed and working. I have tested the HackMii 0.6 installer and it works fine and doesn't report any errors.
HackMii installer 0.6 reports that it is using IOS 34 for the installer and IOS 61 for the HBC.
I have used DOP-Mii to download and install these two IOS from NUS to ensure that they are not patched in any way.

Can anybody help? It wouldn't be a big deal except that every time I go into HBC, it prompts me to update and it's annoying.

Try to install a non patched ios38 and ios61 with dop-mii beta. See if that helps.

Thought I made it clear that the IOS that is being used by the currently installed copy of HBC is clean. I will clarify: the only non-clean IOS I have installed is 202 for WiiMC and a patched copy of IOS36 installed as IOS236.

I do not have any other patched IOS. Also, I have read many threads on the no vulnerable IOS. I stated already that I used DOP-Mii to install both IOS38 AND IOS61. Now I will elaborate: I have actually done this several times and tried several revisions. I was using DOP-Mii 12.1 beta at the time. Really wish people would read the whole post and not just skim through it before assuming that the poster hasn't tried anything.

In that case you must be screwed. You should lose the attitude toward people who try to help you, it does not promote further response.

show your hackmii installation log, it's on your SDCARD

Installer 0.7 use different IOS exploits than 0.6, it does not matter if the IOS used by current HBC to run is clean, what matter is that the current installer can found an IOS it knows can be exploited

Actually, I did already do what he suggested but you are right: I didn't explicitly state that. I apologize for being unclear and also for the attitude. Here attached is my installer.log which I have also posted as a bug on HackMii's flyspray page. I will keep informed if they give a solution first.

    Thank you for your help.

    This installer can NOT continue!

There is no usable or vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii.

Oh and one thing I forgot to mention: when I try the "mini" installer from BootMii/IOS, all I get is a green screen for about 5 seconds and then the Wii restarts to the System Menu.

Run syscheck via the HBC to check which IOSes are actually trucha bugged.

Tried running syscheck. It was "Testing for vulnerabilities" and about 2/3 of the way through, it launched BootMii. Also, I believe that the log file from the HackMii installer indicates trucha bugged IOS with an asterisk. (Correct me if I'm wrong, please) I think the only bugged IOS I have are IOS0 (?), IOS36, IOS202 (WiiMC), and IOS254 (BootMii) BUT according to Jacobeian, that shouldn't matter as the installer doesn't necessarily care about that anymore (as I understood his comment, again, correct me if I misunderstand).

syscheck is useless, you can clearly see the patched IOS in the log (those with * mark)
this is weird, it actually found a valid IOS38 for installation but fail later:

I don't really know what that mean, seems like some IOS operation return an unexpected error, Twiizers should probably be able to tell you more about this

have you tried to install only the new HBC, not BootMii ?

It means the TMD isn't fakesigned, but the contents don't match.

What does this mean? I know what the TMD is; I know what fakesigned is; why would the contents not "match?"

Ok, I got it, the error message about bootmii simply means you don't have a vulnerable boot1, it's not related to the next message.
    Look here at "hash".
it means the IOS hash is calculated and it does not match the value stored, most probably something was wrong when you reinstalled IOS38, try again with DOP-Mii (just don't enable any patches).

Ok, did that and just to be thorough, I have tried every revision of IOS38 that Dop-MII 12.1 beta could retrieve. I forgot to mention that my Wii is a LU64+ and it came with SM4.2 pre-loaded. While I know that this prevents a Boot2 install of BootMii, I didn't think it would prevent me from using the new HackMii installer as the old one (HackMii 0.6) works fine. Thank you all for your help, but it would appear that I am just stuck with old HBC unless the guys over at bugs.hackmii.com can help.

EDIT: Just for kicks, I used DOP-Mii to install a trucha bugged version of IOS38 just to see what would happen. The installer.log now reports that it is trying to use IOS37 to install, with the same problems. This really sucks. Oh, well, guess I'll revert my IOS38 back to a clean version.

Use NUSD, download the current version of ios38 and pack as wad. Load wadmanager, use ios36 and install ios38 via wadmanger. Perhaps do the same for ios61. Use wadmanager, not dop-mii.

Sigh. That didn't work either. Thank you for trying ...

Is there any way to force the installer to use a particular IOS? Even with a "clean" IOS61, the installer just wants to use IOS38. Is there a particular WAD manager I should use? Right now I have MultiModManager and YetAnotherWadManagerMod.

Just wanted to say that you can force the installer to use a specific IOS (sort of). The way I accomplished this was to trucha bug IOS 30-38. The installer then decided to use IOS61. Unfortunately, I still got the same error saying that there is no suitable or usable IOS.
