no problem we are all here to help each other, people just need to keep in mind the wiiu was badly designed tahts why we need Y cables, its no ones fault but nintendo.
My self powered hard drive won't always get seen by the Wii U. Also, when plugged in, the peripherals like the base for Skylanders Trap team won't light up. Lol, if I play a game, it may light up then shut off and the system says the base is there, then missing, then there again!!! Any ideas?

I have a last question, let's say I already transferred all the files to an external HDD using wii backup manager. If I copy all the files inside the external hdd to another external hdd, would that work?

I'm asking because my computer doesn't have too much space, and .iso files are bigger than the .wbfs games, so what I want to do is delete all the isos I have, and Keep the .wbfs that are inside my external HDD in my computer, this way I could install the games to a friend of mine, and also have them as backup in case something happens to my external HDD, but I'm not sure if this would work or the iso file is necessary to be transferred using the wii backup manager.

Wii Backup Manager does not need the .iso files. It actually can convert the .wbfs files to .iso! Your idea should work. You can also copy the "DriveLetter:\wbfs" folder manually to another disk without using Wii Backup Manager. Also, do not use WBFS format as the disk's format. That format is outdated and useless compared to NTFS with a wbfs folder. (FAT32 also works!)

Yes, my HDD is FAT32, and exactly, what I want is to copy the wbfs wolder to another HDD, and now that you tell me it's possible, I'm happy, hahahah :)

Thank you! :)

You probably should copy it using Wii Backup Manager because standard file managers sometimes (rarely) mix up large files.

I have a few more questions.

1. I see gamecube games on my cfg loader game's list, but when I try to open a gamecube game, I got an error and it goes back to the homebrew channel, I've seen a few videos where you choose like a compatibility mode, but I don't see that on my cfg loader.

2. I got the Wii64 emulator, but I don't know how to control it, the wii mote doesn't turn on, and the wii u pro controller gets the blue lights to appear, but not gets connected, like the lights still loading forever.

Thank you!

This is not about hacking the Wii U anymore, you should ask those questions in the right section of this forum.
For CFG loader there is a thread, also for nintendont, DiosMios and Devolution, which all run gamecube games..

Edit: thanx Mr. Mysterio , I forgot, no DiosMios on Wii U..indeed do not even try to install it...

1. Make sure you have "SD:\apps\Nintendont\boot.dol" and that CFG is using Nintendont to boot the GCN games. Do NOT use DIOS MIOS. The Wii U does not have a MIOS, so if you try to install that, you'll get a nice bricked vWii.

2. I've always used my GC controller on my GC compatible Wii for Wii64. I can't help you with this.

wii64 does not support wiiupro and i doesnt support solo wiimote either

wii64 only supports
gc controller trough wii origal ports
wiimote plus classic controller
wiimote plus nunchuck

Hey all i am trying to install the homebrew channel can i do it without using the games exploit and use for example letterbomb, and i am using the vWii of the wii u

Ok guys, my hdd has been working for more than a week, I got a lot of games, but there's still one problem, and I'm a little bit worried of damaging the Wii U.

I gotta to admit that since I tried to used my HDD before I got the Y Cable, and all other problems I've had, have forced me to unplug the Wii U multiple times in order to shut it off.

So... what is the problem now?, ok, I'm not using CFG Loader anymore, since sometimes the CFG screen gets stuck, I mean, it's randomly, but this doesn't happen with WiiFlow, so I'm using wiiflow, but what is the problem with "WiiFlow" (I don't think it's WiiFlow, but might be), well, randomly as well, when I'm playing a game and I go to the wii menu, sometimes it doesn't load the vwii menu and the screen stays black, which forces me to unplug the Wii U (this happens like every 4-6 games that I play and go to the menu, so, it's not always)

I don't know if this might be a problem of the Cable Y, the HDD, WiiFlow, etc, but I'm worry I might damage my Wii U, because to tell you the truth, I've been forced to unplug it so I can turn it off, about 20-25 times (since I started with the entire process), and well, I don't know if this is really bad for the Wii U.

Thank you.

It should hurt it as long as you unplug it by holding the plug as close to the socket as possible. (Meaning do NOT pull it out by pulling the cord.) When I was developing Wii homebrew, I found myself unplugging it a lot too. My solution was to buy this outlet switch.

I was unpluggin the cable from behind the Wii U (the one with the yellow tip), so, you recommend me to buy one of the outlet switch and turn it off and on when it's necessary. This way, the Wii U should be safe?

What might be causing this? (I press home button, go to wii menu and screen goes black until I unplug it)

If you're worried about breaking your Wii U, then go ahead and buy that switch. However, if you pull out the plug correctly, then I think it should be fine. :) As for the crash cause? I have no idea what could be causing it. There are so many possibilities. :(

having a switch and just pulling the plug are the same thing i would of thought!! i just pull mine out everytime i get a crash never had any problems so far. either way the power is cut from the console

how can I install WADs onto the inserted SD Card? I'm using the YAWM .

i think you need a special ios80 installed and then you can install a wad to your console then move it across to your sd card. PLZZZ do not install the wrong ios80 or any other incorrect ios's

ok I tried it, however, I didn't install any ios. I just went to the Wii menu and selected a gamechannel, for example Majoras Mask, selected move and it got moved to the sd card from where I can launch it, exactly what I wanted. Thanx
