Oh really? Where exactly?? You had me put my Wii U on and switch over to vWii and look a 10 minutes at my screen... There is a calendar function all right... but the possibility to compose messages and send it to other Wii's is not there anymore. That's what this hack was relying on :).

Even if you can't send and receive a message games can still put messages in there and the BUTTON is there so people would just assume that they can click on it, open it up, see the message and use it to run homebrew.

I have seen other people post that they can actually get the letter to show up in there, too. The problem is that when they click on it, it just doesn't do anything. Noobs just see the 4.3 version number, see the envelope icon in the corner of their screen and assume it works. It's an understandable mistake even if it's wrong.

I came across as an asshole, not my intention, you are fine, I was wrong. Did not mean it to come across that way BUT I was an asshole (perception is just about everything).
Not problem. Thanks anyway.

Well, for people trying i have softmoded pretty easy with smack sploit after read a lot on many places, then dont try things out the process, try find the answer for your questions before do something and always remember... No way to unbrick wiimode yet.

Be cautelous

i have everything working,i tryed to run the wad installer but im booted into main menu...how do you guys installed virtual console games on wii u?
after hacking the vwii using the simple guide in the forum all I do is use wad manager 1.7 from the homebrew channel and install the games, no issues at all. Did you install all the righy cios in the right spots from the guide ?

It's been some time over a month since I checked this thread but it looks like nothing changed. How has someone been sitting on the WiiU hack (Yes. But the hack has not yet been released...) this long and why?

So the Wii version is definitely hacked, but the Wii U version still remains behind wraps?
publicly, yes. There are those who have already hached into the main wii u part but have not published their hacks yet until they have time to develop the hack and homebrew more so ninty doesn't block the hack before any good can come from it.

And how many months has it been on this stage? 3? Seems like there's either no momentum or something else happened.

hhs, sounds like you are sort of demanding it, don't forget, the wii / wiiu scene is all about ppl involved in developing hacking tools/homebrew that do it for free. It comes when it comes...if it comes. There is a lot of stuff that has never been made public...
We should be glad if some dev. is willing to share it...

Also, per Marcan in another thread; plan A did not work out. I argued with private messages and IRC talks that this was linux ocer vWii. Marcan said sysprot or something stopped whatever plan A was. Plan B he said is "Standard." Busy in March, hinted to revisiting after March. I was after information but do agree: they do this for free. No sales either. After bashing, questioning, I trust fof has the goods. Once I knew these things I relaxed;-)

I'm not demanding it. I don't even own a wiiU. I just like to know things. I got a little skeptical about authenticity due to unproductivity. Can't blame someone for getting suspicious of unproven claims.

They posted on another thred, evidence gathered so far? Marcan and Comex, and what I wrote above is most recent info I've seen. I was a pest, and doubted...but it is released or it is not. Maybe if people offered donations, even as a gesture, it might bump release up. They have lives though and priorities. Once I found info I relaxed. Find thread, read what Marcan wrote;-)

after being away some time, has the nand emu for vWii already been published?
so i can sell my normal wii.,..
You can do NAND emulation through a cIOS (like you can do in USB Loader GX, for example, on a normal Wii) but there's no xNEEK option yet, no.

You got to be kidding?
The Wii U was hacked while the 3DS is still a struggle!? O_O
This got Mii baffled.........
Both were actually hacked in December. The hack for both of them is still not published.

The reverse compatibility mode for both of them IS hacked publicly with the same methods used for their predecessors (Wii and NDS).

The 3DS took longer because it's processor has an execute disable bit which blocks most hacks. The Wii U doesn't (I'm guessing it was too much money to add ... IDK) so it was sooner after it's release.

Or Nintendo thinking the 3DS was better? It is the only consol with 3D ability without buying a HD 3D tv screen for a wopping price...

It takes longer to hack the handheld consoles than the home consoles because there's more people more interested in figuring out how the console works. Besides a majority of handheld games aren't usually that good in comparison unless it's the Pokemon titles, in my opinion. Besides, the Wii U Gamepad holds much more potential as a stand-alone handheld than the 3DS does at this point, in my opinion.
