ROM Hack Hacking Pokemon Platinum ??

Today I saw a Cheat for Pokemon SS/HG that you can change your hero character into the Hero character from Pokemon D/Pt
So I thought Pokemon HG/SS must be made out of Pokemon D/Pt.

My Question:

Could I rip all the Pokemon sprites + Walking system from Pokemon HG/SS and transfer them to Pokemon D/Pt ? So I
can play Pokemon D/Pt with a walking Pokemon behind me ??? or would that take to long to do??

Now i don't know alot about the coding structure of d/pt or hg/ss but don't you also have to do some code hacking to get it to walk after you?

You might be able to use the system from the park in Hearthome City (That one park that I forgot the name of) and have certain Pokemon follow you everywhere.

But, you would never be able to use your bike or surf.
