Gaming Hacked PS3 or Wii U?

Personally, having owned both systems. (Don't own either anymore.) I fancied my CFW PS3. There were a ton of exclusives I wanted to play on the PS3. (Ni No Kuni, Uncharted, The Last of Us, The Unfinished Swan, etc.) (Would love to get Beyond Two Souls on release as well.) While I enjoyed the games on the Wii U as well, they just didn't grab me. Mario was well, Mario. NintendoLand was boring if you're playing alone, ZombiU was pretty repetitive, CoD BO2 was alright (Loved playing it in bed on the gamepad.) but I already owned it on the Xbox 360 so it got boring. The eShop games I got (Trine 2, and Little Inferno.) were quite fun however I wouldn't say they're a system seller.

tl;dr If you want an established library of games get a PS3, if you don't mind waiting a little bit for the Wii U to flourish then get a Wii U. Currently the library isn't that strong, so you'll have to wait for it to pick up. (Bayonetta, Legend of Zelda, etc.)

Ni no Kuni is so beautiful... Also I prefer to play most games using a joystick over a keyboard + mouse setup.

As for Ni no Kuni, it is a matter of taste. I can't stand JRPGs anymore, even though i used to play all of them back in the day. They are targeted to kids and teens now... Brainless stories, endless grinding, easy combat systems, boring characters, far too much padding. I just can't stand them anymore... But if this kind of games are what you seek, then definitely get a PS3... And a DS/PSP as well...

Get a PS3, which has a much more well established library. If PC is a choice though, go for that, and hook it up to a TV.

A WiiU is a much riskier choice, since it's library is lackluster. I see you've said you have a DS, maybe you'd like to upgrade to a 3DS, which has a really good selection of games. If you must go for the JRPGs, especially niche ones, you might be interested in the Vita, but honestly, that's pretty much all it's good for IMO, besides the few other, non-JRPG games worth playing on the system.

One of these systems is more FPS oriented than the other.... can you guess what one it is?

Bonus points if you realize that the Wii has more games released on it than the PS3 did (mostly crap but the point isn't about quality.)

Those are multiplatform, you can find them for every system except for wii (not powerfull enough and game sales would be shit kept developers away)
Most of them are 360 ports anyway

Well since it's not an FPS biased library perhaps you can tell me what genre the PS3 is known for...

I mean all the commercials I have ever seen for the PS3 mostly show FPS games and the top selling games for the system are FPS based.

Edit: By being FPS biased. I am not saying there are no other games for the system in fact I stated as much in my original post. But like many times in the past some genre's do favor specific consoles. SNES VS Genesis if you wanted sports games there really wasn't a choice between the two. the NeoGeo isn't exactly known for it's broad selection of puzzle games but holy hell if you want fighting games! Very few systems have libraries that do not lean one direction or another. That's just the nature of the business, you get whats popular at the time in droves unless something prevents that. In the Wii's case it was lack of being able to easily port the high volume of FPS games released on other consoles and PC's.

The PS3 would give you more access to titles you wouldn't otherwise have since you already have a Wii.

A PS+ subscription may be a good idea for you as well since games are so expensive where you live.

Just a heads up, though - the PS3 is still buggy as hell. Mine locks up and crashes ALL THE TIME. It seems as though Sony did not implement a lot of things as well they should have. If you just play games from disks you should be fine, but if you ever envision yourself using apps or downloading games from PSN, watch the fuck out.

Just something to take into consideration.

It seems you don't need the opinion of anyone then. You had already made up your mind well before you posted your original message...

Anyway, you can output the PC on a tv if that is what you really want. Next-gen consoles are really just pcs on a small form factor... But i am sure even those will feel different to you than a "real" PC.

There is another factor that hasn't been mentioned yet. Since the WiiU is a new system, it will be readily available for quite some time at reasonable prices. A hacked PS3 will only become more expensive. If you will ever desire to have both, I suggest you get the hacked/hackable PS3 now and the WiiU later. Then again, I'm coming from more of a collectors prospective than a straight game player's perspective.

I don't see how anyone could say "WiiU" at this point in time with a clear conscience. The PS3 is more cost-effective, it doubles as a DVD/BluRay player, PS+ guarantees a constant stream of games and it already has a pretty sizable library.

Unless you really, really care for WiiU exclusives, go PS3.

I would get them anyway and if you plan on getting a PS4 or Vita it will be worth every penny. I have it just for my Vita but I share my account with a friend who has a PS3 and we split it 50/50.

Wish you lived near me I would of had no issue letting you borrow my PS3 for a few weeks lol

Very true, however if he has one account for legit content and one for the... less legit games ( ) and Dual-Boots, his online purchases should be safe and sound.

Just one last question for the road: based on personal experience/knowledge. Which form of CFW is the best for Ps3? there are some people that sell them already hacked around where I livre but I don't want to buy a console with a crappy hack.
