whats this chinese mafia thing some of you keep mentioning? its a joke right? or do people seriously believe the chinese mafia is behind this?
The Gateway team stated that brick reports with an official Gateway were fake and hired by the Chinese mafia. No, I'm not kidding.

Considering that MT card was actually the first card with multi-rom and released their launcher.dat before Gateway's Multirom, I'm pretty sure Gateway just did some stealing of their own. The gui was a nice touch though.
They're completely different implementations of multi-rom. And MT's firmware is based on Gateway 1.2. So...yeah.

I really don't understand how people will buy 3 or 4 more 3DS >4.5 for Gateway/clones and they are arguing about the price of the games... plus with the SD cards up to 32gb and Gateway/clones it's just a waste of money IMO.

If you can buy more 3DS and you want other regions games, you just need to buy another region console, not?

There's plenty games offers in the net, and yet you're supporting developers.

Saying that i have a Gateway, but i only use it to test the games i could like, and if i like i buy them, easy and quick, currently i have less than 10 3DS games, and it's really enough.

On topic: The feature is cool, using Select it's just a great idea to change games, and if they take out the brick code, perfect for all, although they don't say anything about...

The thing is though, if MT-card is so havily based on Gateway's 1.2, wouldn't it have region free at the very least? I think it didn't even have that.

I'm not sure if it does or doesn't have region-free. I just know that the boot menu is pretty much identical to GW's, among other things. Might be based on an even earlier version. Or an extremely incomplete internal beta that was leaked somewhere along the way.

Amazing job.
I can't help feeling bad for guys behind MT-Card... I may be completely wrong but I still picture them as like, 2-3 students trying hard to make multi-rom support through a physical button, and now GW comes with this wonderful UI. And MT-Card guys can't even put what they did on a resume.

This is worth all "sorry" about bricks (at least for legit Gateway users ;)).

Even huge companies with thousands of employees make bad decisions at times...look at Microsoft with the always online plans for the xbox one....that backfired, not to mention the hundreds of other bad decisions over the years from Sony and pretty much most manufacturers have made some objective dam/copy protections schemes, gateway appear to be sorting out the issues for their own customers and that's what's important

Actually, they both use "drag and drop Fat32" for their multi-rom storage and a quick command to switch ROMs. The fact that Gateway uses a GUI instead of a physical button-push on the flashcart to switch ROMs would only appear to be a different implementation, but they are essentially the same. Again, the GUI is a nice touch to MT's work, although no-one will buy it after Gateway's multi-rom and more functional update comes out.

i saw some people talking about real time saves? i can't see any evidence or anything about it on their site, where did that info come from?

Well this looks pretty awesome. I just wish that the ROM selection UI had different views like a grid view. I ain't complaining though! My only concern is playing Pokémon X/Y.

My thoughts on Gateway: I definitely don't agree with the presence of bricking code in their launcher's code. It just shouldn't be there at all. Shows just how pissed the Gateway team are that others are just copying their work. It's a really low thing to do, but at the end of the day, I have a Gateway card and will continue to use their new firmware after each release the moment it is confirmed to be safe. Just sucks because even if they release it, we'll have to wait for that confirmation if we don't want to risk our 3DS'es being bricked. But I can't really complain when I'm able to play free games, right?

#offtopic: Are there hardware limitations on their blue card that prevents it from being any better? Not anything along the lines of the DSTWO, of course, but still decently good?

skarthebloodchild: Correct.

Once again nobody died....what's everyone's obsession with making out as if this is people dying....

NOBODY DIED
NOBODY DIED
NOBODY DIED

Clear?

Also nobody lost their home, or family or any other weird ott ANALogy people try to come up with

I don't think you have the right to be so inconsiderate if you haven't experienced your 3DS being bricked as a result of this whole ordeal. I've not been bricked, but at least I show my respect to those unfortunate people who did. Show a little compassion, would ya?

If you read the post I said that it's a bit mean but I'm fed up of people acting like a broken console = dead people! it simply doesn't and anyone making such analogies should really consider other peoples feeling who have lost friends and family in the disasters they love to try compare to this completely insignificant event in comparison

It's sad that people seem to think it's ok to try depreciate what really happened in truly bad events to exaggerate a situation that is truly insignificant in comparison

"If I read the post"

That doesn't change anything, dude. Just relax, it's really not as big a deal as you're making it seem. Are you forgetting you're on the internet? Let people complain. Let them do them, and you do you.

Yeah but it's not exactly a comparison that is in any way similar, telling me to appreciate someone's feelings over a bricked console is silly if they themselves show no empathy for people who lost friends and family in disasters....quite simply this is not a disaster, it's a bit of a bum deal at most
