Yeah, I know it's route, I don't know why I put root. It was just a brain fart! Plus "root", means a lot more than just what it "might" mean in computing.

Also, I bought Matrix parts, because on the one of the major sellers of the xecuter parts said, "NOTE: FOR PHAT CONSOLE INSTALLS WE SUGGEST USING THE MATRIX GLITCHERV2 OR V1 & PROGRAMMER. OUR TECH FOUND THESE TO WORK WAY BETTER:"

So, over the fact that they sell them, and I don't have a lot of cash for modding the XBOX, I went with the Martrix parts.

Thanks for your help anyways.

Hello . I have a doubt. Is there any way to unlock my xbox 360E to run HD backups or disk
that is exclusively via software? ( I do not need to open the device ? )

Thanks in advance

Okay, since my old system that I used for flashing to stock and back has been gifted to someone else, and the VIA card is in another PC right now... my DVD drive is flashed with LT 3.0 (naturally). Is it safe to OTA update the dashboard?

Hey, nice guide you got there but I was just wondering before I start if Dashboard 17349 is even hackable with your guide, if not can anyone can direct me to a more updated guide that would be great.
Thanks!

Every dashboard is hackable.
JTAG is patched since 7371 and can't be used on Slims.
RGH, every dash above 7371 except Xenons and Zephyrs (trouble with booting).
DVD flash can be pulled off on all phatties with ease, Slims with some hardware hacking.
Xkey, same story with a bit more compatibility.

No.
Besides, why would you use disc based backups if you got the opportunity to use the internal HDD or external HDDs?
My friend gave me some discs after he sold his console. I want to play them in my RGH console.
So, if I rip the backup discs to the hard drive using FreeStyle Dash, can i play them ?

Unless you have a Kreon drive (don't think it'll work with backups) or a flashed drive, you can't rip them.

I'd say flash the drive (if you got a phatty, it's quite simple)
Unfortunately I have a slim Xbox 360, and I don't have some necessary tools to flash the drive.
Thanks anyway!

so i'm a total novice when it comes to 360 modding. but i want to play some exclusives (i know i'm late to the party) and i want to buy a modded 360 (or if necessary mod one myself)

now i found one for sale on a local site. a JTAG one. i dont care about going online really so jtag seems fine to me?

guy says it comes with a CD with CPU key, keyvault and DVD key. and he says
"bo2 has the mod menu"
does that sound legit to you all? i'm gonna do some reading about it all before i buy it but i figured i might as well ask some people who are experts.

are there any red flags i should be looking out for?

So, where would one go for what's needed for an RGH on a system with a current dash? and would said RGH work on an Xbox 360 E system?

While my Elite unit is still trucking along just fine with its LT 3.0 dvd drive, I recently spied someone selling a 360 E system for absurdly cheap. And even some retail stores are selling their new 360 E units cheaply as well.

Just format the HDD and reinstall FSD from scratch.
The CPU key and NAND are used to update the console.

Possible "red flag" is that the console might have been online and might have been banned (seeing it's a COD child that sells it)

Hacking the E slims is more expensive then the normal slims.
They require extra hardware.
