Hi there

New to the forum, i've read most of this thread, but some stuff is still a bit confusing.

So i bought a new Xbox 360 many years ago, ONLY played for a couple weeks and completely forgot about it. Yesterday i took out the dust and fired it up.

Its a fat One, seems to be a " Jasper" since it has 12.1 A on 12v . With 120GB HDD

The dash version is Kinect 12625 ( been at least nearly 10y i didn't Touch it)

Question: should i update the dash version ( probably NOT?)

Seems the best router to mod it, is the "RGH" HACK, but this requires modchip as i understood, any recommendation?

I'm pretty good at modding and soldering , so that part is a no issue.

Thanks

if you want a softmod approach, get XeBadUpdate, otherwise modchip/soldering time.
I would just recommend modchips by that point. Bad Update is very tedious to use, and you could be repeating the same process over and over just to get the glitch right. There's a small chance of Bad Update working as it should, most of the time instant crash. Whereas, a chip can do it almost instantly.

If i have been following the scene correctly, this is still not an option for Winchesters. IDK what else to say for Winchesters except never turn off the console:lol: everything is rock solid with the 360 no crashes or ill effects except your electricity bill, but then again this is the most efficient model...

Winchesters still remain unmoddable (in terms of an RGH installation). You cannot swap a 45 nm XCGPU in place of the 35 nm as the die is too small and there's not enough spacing. Maybe an imposer could assist this process, but I digress. So you're out of luck unless you revert to the previous models, some of which require extra steps (i.e., Waitsburg needs POST fix adapter to install a glitch chip). List of best models to buy can be found here: https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox_360:Buying_Guide

EDIT: Bad Update now has successful reliability rates, and will work with Winchesters as a means to softmod the console without soldering a chip or a resistor. But as of writing, it's just not possible to do a *permanent* install.
