i have greendpois0n rc6 and im trying to jailbreak iphone 3gs old bootrom 4.2.1 but its not jailbreaking. at the let go of the sleep button and continue holding the home. it goes to the jailbreak button when the program realises its in dfu mode. but when i press jailbreak nothing happens. my iphone is still off. and the bar doesnt move.

Try putting it in XP compatibility mode. Also, since it's old bootrom, you can jailbreak with Redsn0w, untethered.

ya but redsn0w keeps freezing on me

Then don't quadruple post, I have a problem but I ain't whining.

what kind of computer are you using?

Netbook?

Laptop?

Desktop?

You can't really jailbreak on a Netbook because the drivers that detect the iphone in DFU and recovery mode aren't automatically installed. meaning the drivers will ALWAYS be searched through windows update first before actually being searched in preconfigured driver folders.
