Is a GPS homebrew application possible for the DS?

Would be pretty useful for me.

No, its impossible. The DS could never do that, it cannot track your location let alone have the maps or data.

that is awesome, since you need slot 2 im guessing it can't work on 3DS (don't have 1 but pretty sure it dont have a slot 2)

    You're correct, the 3DS doesn't have a Slot-2.

Well, its true the DS can't do it. You need an external device for this software. And it apparently sucks anyway.

    From Where???
the ds ranger has been lost and forgotten. the team no longer updates it. the thing had 32 mb of ram in it, it could probably be used for something if the right dev got interested in it. if you are thinking of getting one for gps on the ds don't bother. the one i got for review sits in a drawer collecting dust and it will remain there. its great hardware but had absolutely no real software support. which was the reason for its quick death. however, it did work almost perfectly as a ublox device when connected to a computer (or laptop).

they were working on, or released, a slot-1 version with an internal antenna. good luck trying to find one.
