Got Switch Online?
Nintendo's Online service launched last week for Switch, and we would like to know how many of you have signed up!
Please answer the poll and comment on what you think of Nintendo's new paid Switch Online service.
Good times.
MW3 uses Activition's servers btw, which brings me back to my earlier question: Does a player-to-player online service still cost money in terms of server costs?
Then how do people still play Wii (most Mario Kart Wii) online? Does somebody pay for servers?

Can we agree that peer to peer should be free on MS and Sony devices as well? If 60$ is a good deal, fine. But they shouldn't force everyone to get in on it by limiting simple online play for those who don't find the deal convincing. It's so funny when people justify it with is only $20! Microsoft and Sony charge $60... When the switch only has like 2 or 3 online worth games...
Mario Kart
Splatoon
And?...
Man, $60 for Gold or PS Plus is a much better deal.
You can't do that on Switch?Nope.
i want to backup my local saves which is only possible with homebrew, which makes online a nogo
No, only possible by homebrew so far. (EdiZon or Checkpoint)You can't do that on Switch?
The Gamecube did not allow backup safe files of certain games (Fire Emblem, F-Zero).
The Wii did not allow backup save files of games with online features.
But on Wii U u can make backup safe files of EVERY game. But not on Switch?

While the Nintendo Switch Online is due to be launched tomorrow, bad news for those who plan to subscribe, but don't know if they will keep their subscription. Indeed, if it is a question of allocating storage space to subscribers in the cloud so that they can save the progress in their games without cluttering their machine's memory, it would seem that once their subscription expires, all the data becomes inaccessible. Information that is better known in advance, so that you can manage your backups accordingly and avoid an unfortunate loss of games.
It's saved by cloud iirc.Wow, I didn't know all save files are cloud-based.
So if sb doesn't pay for their online service, how will the save data work?
Or is it saved locally, you "just" can't access it?
