Google's CEO claims that Apple is overly fixed in it's fight against Google. While some may think claim this is overblown, Apple's various CEOs have released statements showing their fixation, such as this famous one by Steve Jobs.

In addition to statements like this, Apple has taken public steps such as locking Google Maps out of iOS 6 (and removing it from the App store so it couldn't be re-installed afterwards).

However the article mentions how Google doesn't think it has any direct competitors because it doesn't have a single focus, and of the things it makes the most money off of (search and ads) it's the leader anyways so there's no company that's a polar reflection competing in the same spaces... but it's also hinted that this could just be a mental tactic by Google's CEO to shift the focus of it's employees and planners away from competition and back to their own projects.

this guy has had the best strategies for a long time and continues to dominate. apple is angry at everyone for now losing their title of 'superpower'. CEO, Cynically/Cleverly Eradicate Opposition ... depends on who the CEO is.

I feel like one of Apple's biggest beefs with Google and Android lies with the fact of how versatile the OS itself is. iOS is available for three device types, all owned by Apple: phone, media player, tablet.

Android, while there's not (to my knowledge) a dedicated media player, a la iPod, is available to many more types of devices. Not only is it a MAJOR contender in the phone and tablet field, but you're starting to see Android GPS units show up, there already exists an Android based car stereo (which I own, with more models on the way), as well as a computer OS (Android-x86), point and shoot cameras based on Android, game consoles, media extenders... the fact that it's also open source because if Android isn't compiled for your platform or hardware configuration, you're more than welcome to give it a shot on your own and see what you can pull together.

Saying my experience with iOS is "limited" would be generous; I've used it for maybe a total of 15 minutes over all of the Apple products I've touched. My experience with Android is far greater. I can almost understand Apple's hatred of Android, because it's competition, but that's sorta what happens when you go into business. People make things to compete with your product because they want a share of the pie too. You can't drive your business on the idea of running the competition into the ground and having your product be the only option by giving them a hard time, you have to make your product the "obvious choice".

    My 2 cents.

I think they have a lot in common.

    1. They ruled with an iron fist.
    2. They distrust their own shadow
    3. Poor communication skills
    4. Treating family members horribly
    5. Etc.

I know, right? Don't we have to invoke Godwin's Law before bringing Stalin into this?

Yeah, there's only the tiny difference of Stalin's 20,000,000 murders.

    You know, nothing major.

Right right, but Steve accomplished something similar. He just fired people he didn't like for personal reasons and treated his employees like shit. And boy, did he have control and trust issues.
I always get the Mac staff going with my Stalin and Steve logo in my cube.

Because being fired from your job is totally equivalent to being murdered.

Instead of trying to make the best product, they try to take al concurrents trough lawsuits,
This apple mentality is just stupid, and that's one of the many reasons why so many people hate apple.

Apple copied a lot of stuff,
If it weren't for xerox there would be no apple,

But when they think someone copies then,
they'll try to take 'em down with lawsuits

Android is not even close to a copy of iPhone
