That doesn't even count as a bump.

And yes, of course the link works. It's a link, why would it matter which browser uses it?

from Goo.glGoogle URL Shortener is currently available for Google products and not for broader consumer use.
that's why, but I guess it means only chrome can make them

Why use a micro-URL service that very few people are familiar with?

It offers no advantages over the dozens of existing solutions.

I don't see the problem with Google offering a service specifically to their users, GBAtemp has picture and video upload services specific to members, what's the difference? Some people just love Google and would prefer to use their stuff.

GBAtemp picture and video upload service are hugely feature-anemic versions of long-existing superior services. There is absolutely no good reason to use them over the vast number of superior solutions.

With goo.gl the issue is slightly different. Since it's such a basic service, feature parity isn't a huge concern. What is however is the fact that not as many people are familiar with the domain, in contrast with tinyurl or bitly where the majority will instantly recognize it's a micro-URL. This large disadvantage combined with the lack of any advantages questions why one would actually use it.

To go back on topic, I have:

Adblock (+ the button one)
goo.gl URL Shortener
PageRank
Wiki Lookup
Recent History
word highlight

got firefox?
Unfortunately Chrome's extension system isn't to the level of sophistication that Firefox's is.

Maybe once it is, it will be considered. Minor performance improvements aren't worth significant losses in functionality and customization.

GBAtemp center (made myself)
what does it do exactly ?
Not much
Mostly quick links to certain pages
TempPlugin.png

The site search uses Google, but if you fill in the box and click another button, something else happens:
* Forum - Goes to profile of that member
* Wiki - Goes to entered wiki page
* Files - Goes to filetrip search
* Shop - Goes to shoptemp search
If you leave the box empty, it'll go to the homepage instead of the search.

Very quickly made, and anyone can do it. You only need knowledge of simple HTML/JAVASCRIPT to create something like that
