Hai~

Well, as some of you may know, I quit my job a few weeks back. Not going to get into why.

So, with that being said, my dream of getting a MacBook Pro is dead.

So, over the weekend I was browsing NewEgg.ca and gathered some part with the help of Originality, I think I got the computer that I want.
Most of the part I picked myself but he gave me pointers on how to keep the costs low, etc. He recommended that HDD since it was cheaper.
And he picked that brand GPU(I picked the 550).

So, I am kinda excited seeing as this is the first time I'll be building a computer, and also excited that it'll be really powerful and do anything I need flawlessly.

Anyway, here it is in all its glory~

Thoughts, opinions, pointers?
Would be helpful. But I'm more or less set on this setup. I want to keep in before tax and before mail-in rebates under $800.

P.S: Misleading title was misleading. :3

Why not get a better HD for a lower price?

Clicky

I was gonna get this 'till I found out I need suction cups to replace my iMac HD. -_-"

But I actually might give it a thought.

Anything to keep the cost low. Haha.

we need to know what happened with your job.
lilsypha, Vulpes, p1ngpong, dice, Zarcon and I were discussing it on the staff irc channel and we were happy to know that you got to work.
did something happen?
how can you give up on your dream so quickly

Maybe laid off? Jobs around my area (including mine) are laying off quick as hell. I don't work all this week.

What's worse is you most likely won't get hours unless you are related/close friends with a manager or someone high up. (Like the dick manager at my place's nephews, working double shifts every damn day and bumping my few enough shifts off the schedule!

OH, also the businesses around here have a bad habit of either being explicitly family-run, or import workers from downtown or nearby cities.
Maybe its one of those reasons.

Alright. I'll explain.

Well, my foreman(not the main boss who I got along with) was being a total dick.

I know I sound like a spoiled brat when I say this but "They worked me too hard."
They had me outside in the hot sun shoveling wood chips for 10 hours. The first day.
The other two days I was doing office work, which I enjoyed. I also made a few drawers for desks.
Then, they put me in a REALLY dusty room(without a mask and didn't let me have one when I asked since they didn't have any) for like... a lot of the day getting wood(feel free to laugh) and throwing it into a wood chipper(which I would have to shovel AGAIN), I'd have to go between corners etc. So, after a few hours I felt like passing out, I was having issues breathing and the foreman basically said "Get the fuck back to work." so I hid te rest of the day using my iPod on the Wi-Fi emailing my father about what to do etc. So, I then went home. The next day the guy said "Hey, why the fuck didn't you work the rest of the day?" I was like in my head "Nice morning greeting..." So then he said "Doesn't matter, you're finishing where you left off." At that point I had a fit, yelled and screamed(Like a brat) and said a few thing(no regrets) and quit. Then he said "Okay, get the fuck out of my face." So I clocked out and took the bus home.

Also, I was getting hurt there every day, not safe. Plus, not work for a weak 16 year old.

Also, should I be worried that you were talking about me behind my back in IRC?

EDIT: A Mac isn't worth being depressed everyday of Summer.

Because if he posts there then in the "Latest posts" section it would say "Goodbye by Costello", and with all the recent staff farewells it wouldn't be unheard of.

And I see that Devin responded before I did, but Densetsu's the only ninja around here.

You quit your job, then bought a computer? Wow, you sure are an intelligent person.

Most people would be more worried about finding another job/paying the bills/eating/having a roof over their head, than buying something they don't need.

Just sayin'

To be fair, that's called hard work. People who work at refineries have it twice as bad for 10 hours a day, for their first day... In the scorching hot sun, covered from head to toe while carrying heavy things, probably for even less pay depending on where you go (They never get a desk either).

But on the plus side, you stood up for yourself

Yeah, I realize people have it worse than me. But I was only doing it for the extra money. Some other person out there need that job more than I do. So, in a way I did them a favor. :3
