It's not really the OS. I'd like Windows 7, but I'd take a laptop with Vista, but a quad-core and 4 GB of RAM, over a Win7 laptop with the same specs as this one.

It's possible to upgrade the RAM, but i'm pretty sure not the CPU...

You could upgrade the RAM and overclock your CPU.

So for christmas will be getting a laptop, 2GB RAM, 2.1GHz Dual Core CPU and IGP, great!
And i can say bye bye to the crapbox i'm using right now.
796MHz
224MB RAM Windows XP
It's terrible...
It's the Mercury2000M

Can't wait to get my Compaq Presario Notebook!

i have the same specs apart from that i have 2.60ghz, i have a pc, and my partner has a laptop with similar specs, the specs imo is just enough for internet and other stuff, not much of a pc gamer.

Well it's good for games.
But not really current powerful games.
More like the powerful games of 2006 and stuff.
Sims 3, Alot of MMO's and some other game will work fine.

I wouldnt say its good for games at all
unless you got something like a 4650 in there which I doubt for that price
