is it possible to buy a good printer without subscription these days?

I think Brother is the main brand nowadays that doesnt require a subscription and provides drivers for OS other than Windows.is it possible to buy a good printer without subscription these days?

Not everyone prints a massive amount of paper these days, some subscriptions cover ink cartridges and paper every month such as hp. It's not overly expensive $10 a month gets you about 50 prints. Some people go to the library and get charged 10c a page to print.What on Earth does a printer need a subscription for!?
Call me stupid, but I do not even understand this. I'm serious.
Since consumer printers, especially inkjets, are garbage right from factory on (my ink printer with CD/DVD printing function failed right after warranty expired – some coincidence, huh) it might be worth a try looking at used printers from an formally upper price range.
Might be troublesome with drivers if using modern Windows, but generally old laser printers are neigh indestructible
