Bravely Default is a pretty good game!

You'll have fun right up till the end! And then you'll have fun, right up till the end! And then you'll kinda have a little less fun.. right up till the end. And then you'll have a little less fun the next three times or so.

Playing Bravely Default will update you to 6.2.0 if you're on a lower firmware than that so you will be fine but i'm confused if you have access to CFW why not just install a Bravely Default CIA? Or is it that you want to support the developer?

Even if it did, you'd most likely be able to play it from emunand.

i'm still on the fence with going cfw. ninty and devs of the platform still need support, and going official has its perks.

also, i'm still not sure how to do CFW. i'm really very lost at it that i don't even know where to start. some are charging me about $20 for it.

oh, i'm on 3.0.0-6U just to note.

There are 0 perks of going official.
Here is a simple tut to follow hundreds have completed

Get that game and use it to go to 6.2.0 and set up rxTools

Yes that is correct this way you can support your dev and still use CFW if you so choose but to be safe clear any updates before updating from the game by holding L+R+UP+A while turning on the 3DS then hitting cancel in the recovery menu so you don't go to 10.3 by accident.

just a minute, i need to be clear on this to be safe. uh, can i do this now? because it will still be a couple of hours before i get the game. all i get is "Connect to the Internet and update system?"

so all i need to do here is just to press cancel? then proceed with updating using bravely default? not really sure how it works.

Yes just hit cancel this will clear any pre downloaded updates on your 3DS
