What is completed:
- All background, character and monster textures.
- Font and some UI assets.

What is missing:
- Menu background (bad dump)

Notes:
- There are minor shadow glitches. This is an emulator bug.

Install:
  • Download the latest Pcsx2 nightly build (v1.7.2404 +).
  • Extract the folder to the pcsx2 texture folder (...\Pcsx2\textures\SCUS-97399\replacements). SSD recommended!!
  • Config > Graphics Settings > Advanced tab:
    Load Texture: ON / Async Texture Loading: ON
  • Have fun! :)

Hey Panda, great work on these packs. I want to ask you something.

I also did a pack for God of War but it weighed in at 10gb, it was PNG though, how do you have such sharp clear images on DDS? I also noticed tons of duplicate textures that were, especially from the Cyclops enemies. Do you only need one of each of those files? They weren't vram dumps, they were proper textures.

I'm still learning and I would love to know how your packs are so small while still looking so good. It would help me a lot with storage.

Also, what are your settings for Cupscale? I used another app but it seems Cupscale has a lot more options.

Maybe it's all about the model that he uses? I used to use ESRGAN, but now I use Real ESRGAN. I think it works better with edges and inscriptions. And it may also be that Panda manually edits some textures such as HUD or Text through Photoshop. Maybe more than just HUD or Text.

I've dabbled with Cupscale but not too much, there are so many settings and I'm no sure which would give the best result. Do you also use png or do you output dds? I saw there were quite a few dds conversion options in Cupscale but I don't know which is best.

I use the PNG format only when the game crashes the emulator when using the DDS format. Like the Legacy of Kain series. You know that I tried to upscale Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance. And only with the PNG format, the upscale works fine. Without the crash of the emulator. And basically only DDS. To save space.

Oh I never knew these was a chance that DDS crashes the emulator. I did all my Legacy of Kain packs with png. I did a test with DDS on Blood Omen 2 but the quality wasn't great so I redid it with png

You should write a bat file to filter these out. (like del ?????????????????????????.png ot something)
And watch out for the dupes, you have thousands unnecessary textures, like the medusa effects on textures,

For upscaling, I use near 20 models, because every game and image type needs special care. Chain them, interpolate them, and if necessary fix them with photoshop or Gimp. (And watch out the alpha channels too, most textures need 8bit, but some only works with 2bit).

I hope I've been helpful and keep up the good work! :)

Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

I went through my God of War file and I reduced it from 10gb to just over 1gb. I'm aware of garbage vram dumps but this was the first game I did that game me so many duplicate textures and I wasn't sure if they're needed or not :)

Just drop the pth files into the CupscaleData\models\ESRGAN\ folder :)

Hey there, incredible work! I am trying to get them to work on XBSX2.0 on my Series X. Other games load texture replacements just fine but I have had no luck with both GoW games, do you have any suggestions? I have the DVD5 versions of both games, thanks!

I just discovered a better way of separating bad dumps, usually, they have the same suffix so if you typed ~*6800.png into the search bar of Windows File Explorer, it would highlight every file with that ending text like xxxxxxxx-xxxx6800.png
