I've downloaded them from the music store legally as well.. Unless you know of another way..? Ok those of you that can do it direct to sd are you patched or 1:1? I don't have a modded wii. I am using backup launcher 0.3

IM using 1:1 patched and have the same problem...whats the reason it wont let you save to the sd card? Cause your using it or something? If i knew why i might be able to come up with a solution....

I've even tried to put in a different SD card after loading since you once the game loads, you can remove the SD and play the game as usual. No dice.

Long time lurker, first time poster...

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet? I'm still having it, and despite trying a few different SD cards, 1 with homebrew apps on it and 2 blank ones formatted to FAT, I can't transfer them off my Wii. If I do, then it leaves a copy on there that I can't seem to delete.

I even downloaded one of the free bits of DLC, and when it asked me if I wanted to store it straight to the SD card, I said yes. Now I seem to have a copy of that free DLC on both my SD card and on the Wii. When I try and delete either one, it says "error reading SD card". So it's wasting valuable space on my Wii and I can't get rid of it!

I'm running a legit copy of the game, but I am loading it through the backup loader to stop it installing the 3.3 system update. At first I thought I needed the 3.3 update to allow the SD card transfer, but it works fine on my mates running 3.2. What do I do?

I had a similar problem with the rock band 2 DLC, which would never transfer over to the SD card.

The fix for me? cIOSCORP!!!!

I own GHWT so I'm not going to test, but does anyone know if using cIOSCORP will fix this issue?

The problem is caused by running the game using a different IOS than the one it was meant to use, IOS37. cIOSCORP will work properly, as well as using softchip with cIOS37. If nothing I'm saying makes sense do a search for Mrkinator's rock band custom guide, it lists all the necessary steps.

You know I'm surprised no one has tried to hack the ghwt or rb2 dlc save file I'm pretty sure that's where the actually catalog is stored. I can't say I've had the dlc problems with either game though. Accept for today for RB2 with the glitched DLC.

My n00bish side is gonna really show through here...
cIOSCORP, softchip. I basically have no idea what you just said. Are you saying that I can install a cIOS that will allow DLC and SD card transfers to function correctly in both GHWT and RB2?

Cheers mate, I will have a look at it. So that link details the softchip path, is there any advantage/disadvantage to going the other way and using cIOSCORP? I have done a bit of reading over the last half hour, and it seems cIOSCORP actually make for a pretty good replacement for the Backup Launcher (which I currently use). I can load backups directly from the disc channel with it, is that right? The fact that it plays Medal of Honor H2 while my Backup Launcher doesn't sounds mighty tempting...

Medal of Honor 2 need to be patched with Waninkoko's IOS Version Patcher 1.1, to 249 in order to work, and yes CIOScorp can load the games directly from the Disc Channel...!!!

I see, it's starting to get clearer. Seems that the softchip with cIOS37 and Version Patcher might be easier and safer, although loading everything directly from the disc channel sounds pretty cool.

Decisions, decisions...

Anyway, i'm getting away from where I started. Fixing GHWT and the SD card problems i'm having. So using softchip with cIOS37 will fix GHWT, as well as any potential problems for RB2? (No DLC for RB2 here in Australia yet, so haven't run into the issue).

Do I have that right? Perfect! I think i'm all set!

Softchip and cIOS37 will fix the GHWT/RB2 problems and is safer than cIOSCORP.

(No DLC for RB2 in Oz because the game's only out in US so far

Hi,

a quick questioon in regards to something mentioned earlier in the thread - "I am using a legit copy of GH:WT through the gamma backup launcher so as not to be forced to upgrade the firmware to 3.3"

I am still using firmware 3.1E and havent been asked to upgrade by the system menu for a long time. I recieved GH:WT last night and also expected it to try and upgrade my firmware, but it didnt and everything works ok (i am not using the backup launcher to run the game).

I have all the internet stuff on my Wii turned on.

Is this right? i know i should upload to 3.2E and install starfall etc, but i taking the line "if it aint broke dot fix it". I dont install and wads / banners so no chance of a brick there.

Well IOS37 can't handle them so it's extremely unlikely GHWT or RB2 will ever support SDHC. If they add SDHC support to new (as yet unreleased) IOSes, future games may be able to use them.

QUOTE(tueidj @ Jan 28 2009, 07:30 PM) GHWT does not contain a 3.3 update. All it has is IOS37 which the game requires to run properly.

Odd. When I first got my Wii a few months ago, before installing any homebrew or anything, I updated it via the net to the latest firmware (which was 3.3E). Whenever I put the GHWT disc in, it just showed the little GHWT animation/graphic in the disc channel. After getting into homebrew a little bit, I decided that 3.2 was the best all round firmware that allowed you to do pretty much everything, and using a guide on here, did the downgrade to 3.2E (I also did the shop update though). Now when i'm on 3.2E, when I put the GHWT disc in, the disc channel has a picture of a Wii console with a disc in it and says "System Update". Something like that anyway. I assumed that meant it would upgrade me to 3.3 again. Are you telling me that that "update" isn't actually the 3.3 system update I need, but just IOS37 which I need to run the game correctly? Or it possible that kebabinho's game disc and mine are different being that we're in different countries?

Is it safe to do that update? Does that mean I won't have to do the Softchip and cIOS37 if I do?
Glad it was too hot to stay home last night or I might have done it last night.

Yes it safe, and once it's done you don't need softchip (since you have the original disc). More confirmation, if you need it: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=130540
If I'd read your first post probably and realized you had a legit copy of the game I would have just said "Do the update" straight off. My bad. The only game I've personally found to have a 3.3 update included is Disaster: Day of Crisis but there's probably more out there now.

(And yeah these consecutive 40+ degree days can piss right off. Thank god I don't use public transport.)
